CC : Essex v Durham

As mentioned earlier, there was variable bounce from both their spinners - whether that’s the pitch or just the natural variation created by the bowlers themselves I can’t say, but to say the wicket did nothing isn’t completely true.

Don’t get me wrong, I was thinking last night that we may well struggle to take 20 wickets in 2 and a half days, but at the very least we should be able to put ourselves in a position fairly early on Day 2 where we can’t lose the game.
Very little.

The only wicket taking ball that kept low was Borthwick's but it was a slower delivery well outside off stump he could have left.

I know everybody has to learn but this lass on comms is worse than the Caribbean chap yesterday.
Dear Bonny lass not every shot is a drive
Sorry for my pickiness

I think you are the only person on here who agrees with me on this.

In the RLC in 2021 he was one of our stand-out bowlers (10 wickets at an economy of 5.2, not to mention his contribution with the bat). Now we'd be lucky to see him bowl a solitary over.

He needs to spend less time in the commentary box and more time in the nets.

Aye he was, England really rated him, as I say they sent him all over the world, I suspect when he started to realize it wouldn’t happen for him at that level, and the surrey move, maybe the motivation went
De Leede goes 2nd ball.

Even worse one by De Leede.
Harmer never fails to pick up wickets.

Moving the game on though

As mentioned, a fair few from their spinners misbehaved, just because they didn’t take wickets doesn’t mean they didn’t happen.

Today, Harmer is already getting very good turn, with a lead of over 550 that’s very nice to see.

The ball from Critchley to Potts which he edged between keeper and first slip was a beauty too.
