CC : Durham vs Gloucestershire

52-1 (10 overs).

Lees 26*, Borthwick 21*.

Trail by 264.
Aye great stuff as we'd hope it would be.

Just hearing the chat RE Rew.

Seems mental that your going to have a 19 year old keeper averaging 69 with the bat. No doubt well past 1000 runs come end of season.

Yet so far he's got a 48 SR while doing it so he won't even be in the conversation for an England call up.

Obviously he's got a half fit bloke called Bairstow that couldn't catch a cold, score runs or stay in his crease ahead of him. So only right he's not in with a chance

But yeah a nice stock of keepers with Foakes, Robinson, Cox, Smith and Rew. 3 of them being more bazball and 2 more more classical batsman

Yeah, it’s barmy, but then Foakes has a more than decent career strike rate and so I don’t get the theory that he doesn’t score quickly enough to be considered a ‘BazBall friendly product’.

That’s before you consider that this particular series has seen a number of examples of batsmen batting ‘properly’ anyway.

Anyone know if lunch is at 13:00?

They just said another 30 mins. So 13:10

Wonder if it will be 13:15 and the clock in the media room is fast 🤷‍♂️

Borthwick throws his wicket away by giving catching practice to the man at deep mid wicket.

77-2 - trail by 239.

Lees 49*.

Gloucestershire gave away a couple of cheap ones yesterday, we’ve given one away already, it still looks like an absolute road and their bowlers were looking devoid of options so to me it appears the only way we won’t get a sizeable first innings lead is if the conditions change dramatically or we continue to throw wickets away.

That’s a f*cking ridiculous dismissal.

Another Durham wicket in the over before lunch, another Durham wicket lost by a batsman needlessly taking on the short ball.

My word. We’ve lost 3 wickets this morning to one of the most vanilla bowling attacks I’ve seen at CLS in years.

It’s flat, it’s doing absolutely nothing* and somehow we’ve managed to lose 3 wickets in a little more than half a session.

101-3 at Lunch, trailing by 215.

Maybe he's seen Bazball and how england have played and changed his mind about SA.

Goes I too wish to play test cricket where trying to hook a ball on the stroke of lunch for 6 is applauded and backed to the hilt.
