CC : Durham vs Gloucestershire

Eight down six to go. We enter a vital period of our red ball campaign with three games in three weeks beginning with the visit of Gloucs to the Riverside on Monday 10th.

Our bowling injuries are well documented but fingers crossed we will be allowed to play Pottsy in this fixture. As for the rest well we all know Durham like to keep injury news close to their chest so we can only guess on the chances of Carse or Coughlin being fit to bowl and de Leede's availability will probably be down to the outcome of the Netherlands v Scotland game and Ollie Gibson has been used sparingly in the current 2nds game at Burnopfield which indicates he may not be quite ready yet to challenge for a place in the starting XI..

There is also a question mark over Bedders' finger injury so we'll have to wait and see although McKinney won't have done his chances any harm with his big score in the 2nds on Monday.

Our opponents currently lie in 7th position with six draws and two defeats and when we played them at Bristol six weeks ago the now departed Ajaz Patel took 10 wickets in a game we dominated from the off.

Let's hope for decent weather and hopefully a victory that will take us one step closer to promotion back to Div 1.

Quote from North in his preview of Leicestershire CC game
“We are currently in the final stages of securing an overseas bowler and we felt like that skill set will help us push towards success and support our current seam bowling group as we continue through the season.”
So can we expect an addition to the bowling squad for the Gloucs game?

If this was before the Leicestershire game then he could have been talking about Ray Toole, the New Zealander playing at Shotley Bridge ?

Mostly with regards to which bands coggers watched in pop recs

He's already mentioned that earlier in the preview

"Durham can announce the signing of Raymond Toole a New Zealand quick bowler who joins the club on a short-term deal and could make his Durham debut against Leicestershire.

With 84 first-class wickets to his name, the left arm seamer plays for Central Districts and previously played for Essex in last year’s one-day cup campaign. Toole is currently playing club cricket for Shotley Bridge in the North East Premier League where he has taken 20 wickets".

Confusing!

I'm not at work next week and will be popping down on Monday and maybe Tuesday too, so hoping for the sort of weather we got for the Glamorgan game.

Can we spend some sending Glover back from where he came?
Reckon Robinson’s injury will scupper Potts chance of playing v Gloucs and DeLeede will now also be unavailable.

It seems that the Gods are conspiring against us this season. While that was an excellent performance by de Leede today my first thought was - Well that's him out of Monday's game.:(

Carse looks like he’ll be fit. When I did my fanboy bit and spoke to him at the 2nds game v Notts a few weeks ago he said he’d be fit to bowl in about 2 weeks. He looked ok yesterday at Burnopfield.
