CC : Durham v Worcestershire

Shame about Stokes being out in the last over to one that kept low
He tried to get bat down to keep it out but couldn’t
Anyone guess or know what was said between him and bowler?
I would like another 20 or so from Raine or de Leede .
They are overdue to contribute something.
Please

It’s frustrating to see Bedingham, Robinson and Ackermann all getting out to balls that weren’t a threat in any way to their wicket. Criminal I’d say regarding Bedders and Robinson in the context of the game.

The Stokes dismissal gives me hope that we can defend 223, but I really hope they learn a lesson to not produce a pitch like this again in a game where they’re so favoured.

Losing to this lot would be unforgivable.

That said, we’ve had the worst of the conditions by a country mile and also the worst of the umpiring. I genuinely believe we’ve been on the wrong end of as many as five decisions. Not even close calls either. Regarding the conditions, we started yesterday in damp and gloom, had to bat under lights and then further gloom and when we got on a roll with the ball the umpires took them off in light which was no worse than what we batted through in the morning. Today, they’ve effectively been able to keep their new ball bowlers on for the best part of 30 overs thanks to the on/off nature of the day.

The concern for tomorrow is that it flattens out somewhat after another going over of the heavy roller and they enjoy better overhead conditions - which are forecast.

An hour of Raine and De Leede batting first thing would settle the nerves, as would 3 wickets in the first ten overs of the run chase. Mind De Leeds’s batting seems to have dropped off a cliff.

We have more than enough already in my opinion.

Really hope you’re right marra, win tomorrow and I’m confident we can say our place in the Division is secure for another year.

Only problem is, it’ll only take one partnership for them to crack the run chase.

Do we know if Kashif Ali will bat?

It would take something out of this world to score over 200 on that pitch. It would be nice if we can push to 240-250. Not sure about Ali, never heard anything. Hopefully done by half 2 and I can get down to Hartlepool, if not will go Wednesday

My only concern is that it flattens out a little and batting becomes much easier.

Still think we would of hammered them on a decent surface brought them into the babe with this green top.

Just hope it’s as gloomy and overcast during their batting last you would want is the sun to poke some nice heavy grey clouds please!
