CC : Durham v Worcestershire

Too little too late - been dippin in and out as watching on the stream whilst at work but the Durham bowling has looked very loose. Whats with all the short stuff??

This whole thing has been a horror show, well set in the league, prepare a poor pitch against a struggling side, automatically have no chance of any batting points, shocking umpiring, and poor management decisions.
On the pitch we lost this in the second innings, 3 wickets before the close in about 10 overs, Pottsy going well then out one ball before the rain break, needless wickets given away by Olly and Bedders and then both Stokes and Ackers out in last 4 overs. Coupled with bang average bowling since lunch this one will hurt ... and set us back from a promising position in the league. ... Got to leave now so I sincerely hope I end up with egg on my face with 36 needed ... and we win Not confident !!

The most angry I’ve been over a Durham performance in years this.

The pitch was a disgrace, the umpiring was a disgrace but also, we lost far too many wickets in the game to poor application and an unwillingness to stick in and fight it out.

I reiterate, we’ve allowed ourselves now to be dragged into a relegation battle come the final month of the season when we should’ve been looking ahead towards a tilt at the title. To lose to a team that is Division Two standard by such a large margin in the end is completely embarassing.

They have their second string (possibly third string) bowling attack out, littered with patch-up loans of rejects from elsewhere. And we’ve GIFTED them life

Worcestershire fans I was sat close to earlier couldn’t believe their luck, they were making comments that suggested they didn’t expect to get anywhere near, nevermind to win so easily.

The club need to work very hard in my opinion to bring in an overseas player for those final 5 games of the season, because we may well not see Potts or Stokes anymore this year.
If you think we were capable of title challenge you shouldn't think we are in relegation battle because of one game

Has this innings not shown the pitch isn't that bad, and it's been more the conditions of the first couple of days

With 24 pts available every match it's quite easy to go from one end of the table to the other. Which makes it even more crass to prepare a pitch which can change so rapidly as it dries out. This game was decided on who won the toss.
If you are that confident we would win enough games to do well we shouldn't be

I didn’t say we were capable of a title challenge, but our position in the league had we won this game would’ve meant we were.

Just like how our position in the league will now show that we need to be looking over our shoulders.

Frankly, I can do without your petty as f*ck pedantry right now, but if you insist on it, atleast make sure you quote me properly.

Chill out pathetic response when I'm just trying to debate something

mate you're on a cricket forum trying to start shit
No I'm not
It was clear early on that it wasn’t going to work against Ali, yet we’ve persisted with it and gifted him about 30 runs in the process.

You weren’t trying to debate anything, you were being snide and in doing so you misquoted me.
I wasn't I was starting things shouldn't change because of one game and you get abusive

Got exactly what we deserve for preparing a wicket like that. Crazy to think we took away one of our biggest strengths, our ability to pile on runs with positive batting, to turn the game into a 2 day lottery.
I just don’t get it. We’ve got Lees, Bedingham and Stokes and we’re preparing pitches like this for them to bat on. It beggars belief it really does. Who makes the decision on the wicket? Bostock? Campbell? f***ing brain dead.
