CC :: Durham v Worcestershire

Pointless moaning about Robinson, unless you’re going to tell him it’s very poor yourself

I think we’ll see a few “horrible wafts” this season like, there’s going to be a lot of comments made about a lot of dismissals.

Great to see Bedingham get a century
Nice attempt need to try harder next time

The Riverside micro climate happens again! I can't believe they got a full dsys play in.
Unfortunately never seen a ball bowled but surely thats a cracking scorecard for Durham in those conditions.
Great to see Bedingham back in the runs and well done Raine and Coggers. I think decent contributions with the bat by our bowling all rounders will be vital this season.
Agree. Both Raine and Coggers have the potential to be genuine all-rounders but all too often throw their wickets away with careless shots. They came in in a very tricky situation against bat the new ball and coped well showing what they are capable of.
Same applies with Carse.

Canny little partnership there at the end, hopefully they can stick about for a bit in the morning

Let's hope they can match the unbeaten 213 these two put on for the 8th wicket last season at the Riverside against the same opponents.

Never thought we'd get a ball bowled today when it was pouring down at 10am so have really enjoyed today's match but by gum it gets cold in that Don Robson Pavilion when you lose the sun.

I was talking to an old gadgee as I left who agreed with my opinion on the day's play and said that the only thing he had to complain about today was the mysterious lack of condiments to go with his meal in the Members Lounge.:D

Arrived during the lunch interval, lovely to see folk tinged with sadness at hearing the passing of a member as mentioned earlier. From what I saw, very impressed with Clark and Bedingham, but overall a good day for Durham despite the wobble after the brief rain interruption. Seats in the Don Robson stand are manky, they need a good pressure washing. I hope Borthwick can get a score soon. Let's push on for 400 tomorrow within the 110.

-An enjoyable days cricket, a second week in succession that we’ve been put in and have performed admirably with the bat. Batting seemed serene all day with the exception of one very good spell from Finch and the debacle upon the resumption after they’d taken the new ball. I can’t get vexed about that though, losing 3 for 0 is horrible and left me with a sinking feeling - especially slipping from a position where 500+ looked nailed on, to suddenly worrying that we wouldn’t make 350 - but the conditions were hideous and aside from that one blip we’d built partnerships and been very competent with our approach all day.

Delighted to see Bedingham back in the runs. Lees might want to have a look at his technique and see if there’s anything he can tweak because that’s twice in 3 innings he’s been bowled through a gaping hole in his defence whilst pushing forward. As I mentioned above, partnership building today was key and that’s the best thing I take from the day I think (yes, even better for me than the Bedingham ton). Jones and Clark won’t take the plaudits, Borthwick certainly won’t, but they all played their part in some useful partnerships at the right times played at the right tempo. We had partnerships of 58, 42, 65, 30, 113 and then after that 0-3 the current unbroken stand is 55, which were all really enjoyable to watch in their own way. Especially the one at the end there, which has been significant in making sure we keep hold of the control of this game.

Tomorrows forecast appears to show more rain than we had today, hopefully the Riverside microclimate can come to the rescue again and we’ll get a full days play in.

Was there any other info from the meeting? I was at the game but unfortunately couldn’t stay for this.
Durham made a 350k profit from last year
Tim’s confident we’ll do it again this year
A new 4 floor, 147 bedroom hotel, getting built by 2025 they hope
Trying to get 2 England Men’s games at the Riverside per year
Not focussing on hosting a test match
A big community day in August
Tim said he would look into fans being allowed onto the pitch at lunch/tea.
