CC :: Durham v Worcestershire

I singled you out because it’s you (and only you) who was trying to paint a fairly innocent situation as a negative against Franklin.

I get you don’t like him (or atleast his coaching/management style) and I have no issue whatsoever with that, you’re more than entitled. BUT, it does you and your view a disservice when you try and turn every tiny thing into a negative against him.

As I said, I’ve been in various dressing rooms where the ‘lead’ voice often gave way to assistant coaches for a particular talk. You can argue it’s a strength as much as it is a weakness.

If you take your blinkers off, hopefully you’ll understand.

Do you go to many games?

Declare lads give them 150 to chase :lol:

Read back through the thread, someone else was asking the very same question

Or just link me up, seeing as you’re the one making the claim… 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, I’ve looked, there’s no link to provide because as I originally said, you were the only one whinging about him not doing the team talk.

Even though we now know that he did and that you were woefully ill advised.

Depends what you define as ‘many’.

I do go to games, but not as many as WHED.

I'm gonna pay devil's advocate here.

A) if Potts was playing we'd be well on our way to winning this

B) this pitch has contributed to a high scoring game that has provided great experience batting to Bushnell (a young English bat) borthwick, coughlin (both previously on England radar as all rounders) as well as experience in captaincy for borthwick and overs of spin on a day four pitch for borthwick and trevaskis (another England qualified spinner)

What's not to like for FTECB?

Potts has looked a good prospect in the tests but if you think Durham would have won with him playing then he must be some player.

Just my view but I don't think we would have won this game with Potts in the side. Guess we'll never know but all folk entitled to their view. That wicket took flat to a whole new level, absolutely shite.

How many championship days do you see in a season on average?

Why is it relevant?

I go to as many as my work/family/leisure permits me to. Less than WHED, less than Marty Emmerson and less than James Franklin. Far more however than Mark Wood ;)

We will never know but if we had Potts and wood playing, I feel we wouldn’t be sitting here lamenting a draw.

i don’t attend though, just catch up on the stream

Leading wicket taker in the country and been getting far more out of placid pitches than the ever reliable rushy. I think it's fair to say yes he's some player.

Of course we'll never know but if Potts had played I'd have him in place of coughlin meaning we'd probably have been 450-500 all out instead of 650, if he'd bowled anything like he has the rest of the season we might have shaved one or two hundred off their total and had basically an extra half-full day of play left. Who knows, it's pointless debating it, I just mean we wouldn't have looked half as toothless.

Durham are in a hard place, were not shit we're suffering from being a bit too good and losing our best players, but not good enough to cope with losing stokes, wood, Potts and carse

Yeah, just had one. That’s no problem I’m planning on getting there early with the expected big crowd
