Suspect ECB will pull Potts out of some games imminently,Hogg and Connors injured ,Doggett not very impressive. Bedders injured,Robinson's batting gone.

Ffs just seen the score after last checking at lunch. Two concerning results, it doesn't look like we have the balanced bowling attack needed to take 20 wickets plus a number of batsman seem out of form.
Question marks also for North as his winter recruitment seems to have made us worse and look totally imbalanced. Money could have been used elsewhere, such as a spinner.

TBF on paper it’s a good team. Absolutely no idea what’s going on with Robinson. Gay and Rhodes looked like exciting signings.
Potts has been below par too IMO.
The lack of a quality spinner is annoying though.

Hugely disappointing result. Will be interesting to see how Campbell responds to this for the Yorkshire game as we are currently playing with three walking wickets.

I think most of us expected the signings especially Rhodes to play a similar role to what he's doing his whole career, which is bat at 3 and occasionally bowl. Problem is we have shoehorned them into a side and so far they don't seem capable of doing the job we have designed for them.
The spinner is a concern, you could argue that us and Worcs have the weakest spin department in the division by some distance.

Thought he was OK in the first innings and reminded me of fellow Aussie Mick Lewis in his first season with us. In the second innings he reminded me of Mick Lewis in his second season with us.

I agree, and that was why I was so concerned about no spinner.
There's got to be a question mark about Lees as captain, maybe he'll succeed in the remaining matches maybe he won't, but I wish him well, and maybe I'm seeing an issue when there isn't one.
In my mind, Rhodes is the main player that needs to step up and get his game moving, or maybe he's the one who drops out and allows Parky to play.

I think you don't lose that game today with a decent spinner. Too much workload on Potts and Raine who had already bowled over 50% of the overs in the second innings by the time the new ball came, on the back of long batting efforts and plenty overs in the first innings.

I think the last2 years we’ve had a clear formula of how we want to play
I even said yesterday we just were so defensive and ended up like 100-5 without playing a shot
For me, I’d drop Gay, bat Rhodes 3
Both games have been fine margins mind, so not gonna go over the top
I am not saying he should play but all last 2 years I have been banging the drum about what a good captain Scott Borthwick is, I really think he is excellent, and I think people will realize that this season
I wasn’t as confident as every innings when the ball gets soft people have scored runs

He's arguably still worth his place in the side too.
I found it a little odd he suddenly moved from first team captain to the second XI at a relatively young age, presumed he was keen to get into coaching but tbh I think despite never recapturing his 2012-2016 form, he offers you a lot still as a gun fielder and someone who can get through a few overs in addition to being a top order bat.

In my opinion he should still be captain and batting 3. He is a great character and fielder too right. And I’d back him to average 35 or so
I don’t know why he’s stopped playing he could get jn a lot of county sides I think

Very poor defeat that when we had them at 90/5. We seemed void of anything positive after lunch which is a concern. Some of the captaincy/field settings were bemusing to say the least. I stand by my view that dropping Clark was ridiculous and truth be told we are carrying 3 batters in Robinson, Gay and Rhodes. I'm not arsed if two are new signings, either put up or sit out should be the policy and they need to improve sharp. Poor start to the season and we really need to improve quickly.
