My basic point is we should have able to produce a player who can average over 30

I get signing the likes of Beds..elite players...but dont like the level below that

People are happy with our players averaging 30

I think the problem with Rhodes and Gay so far other than a slow start, is that they don't really fit into our XI. Both are best suited opening the batting and neither are going to dislodge Lees or McKinney. That said, Rhodes is better at 3 than 7 which means Gay shouldn't really be in the team.

Warwickshire didn't want to lose him. So I don't get that view.

Gay is a young talented batsman who's got many years to still improve as a player.

The it's not what we are about is also view I don't get. We've long imported players, complemented by local players. But we've got nobody coming through with the bat and barely had a second XI last year, so who we supposed to pick instead.

Clark defs a bit unlucky to be dropped as he did well. But he had a pretty poor CC campaign last year.

I'm also not having a go just a differing opinion to you on players I think are good signings, I just don't get why we signed them both just to play them in a different role to what they did last season. Gay opened the batting and Rhodes played at 3(although we've seen he wants to bowl more(assume to get into the T20 side too) and why he left Warks)

By plodder, I dont mean they arent decent cricketers, probs wrong choice of word...I mean...they are just decent county cricketers...thats it

rather stick with Borthwick and Clark unless we are getting premium upgrades
