So after seeing this I thought I'd get some clarification. I am told that things changed post covid and the age is now 24 year old to trigger an automatic pro deal. I'm told Durham have contacted the ECB regarding Alex Lees situation - obviously if he was to get a central contract then it would free up budget for 2023.
Durham have also made contact with the PCA regarding the automatic pro deals and that is the reason 2 players are not playing in this game, or the next one. Whilst what I said last night was speculation and it could have been down to a total coincidence that both players are on 16 points, what I have heard this morning confirms that it is in fact true that both players have been left out due to the automatic contract trigger.
I'm also told that some players were expecting to have had their annual review by now. Despite being promised this weeks ago, some players careers/lives remain in limbo.
I have it from a very reliable source. Not gonna burn them on a football website naturally. Doesn't seem that outlandish that playing 4 first class games gets him a pro deal?Certainly think Bushnell should have been selected for these past few games but I find your claim regarding breaking the threshold surprising. Are you stating that as fact are you WUM? He's only played 3 CC games and 2 T20.
Shouldn't be in the team according to the brains trust on hereAnother 50 for Maddinson. See post #135![]()
Shame we only brought him in for the last few games, he's looked mintAnother 50 for Maddinson. See post #135![]()
Maddinson who made a decent contribution to us winning the last game aye?
wish we were signing Benjamin instead of Robinson
His numbers might not show it yet but he is a bit of a unique talent
Off for bad light, f*cking terrible decision. We’ve played through worse loads of times
We might net, y’never know.
