CC :: Durham v Sussex

:lol::lol::lol: crying here!

I was tempted to come along after work if there was 3 wickets left (or more) but those last few got cleaned up before I finished in the end.

Lord only knows what I'll do in winter, I guess study is the correct answer!

Well according to the above mentioned Franklin appreciation society and small dog fan club Lord Botham at the pie and pea supper meeting declared he thinks it will be an appointment from outside the club and someone who wont be nashing off to the hundred.

We all agreed it seemed a bit early to say that, and of course that doesn't mean it 100% as the appointment has to be got right and if killa is the best candidate or a great opportunity comes up for someone who will disappear off the hundred perhaps we should take it, but that's what was said by all accounts
Well he will know better than us or should i say i hope he does.

aye, although he loves a soundbite anarl. imo it's far too early to decide things like that.

there might be no interest in the position at all meaning killa is the only choice.

an absolutely world class name may become available and be interested but ask to coach in the hundred and we'd be a fool to turn them down.

Makes you wonder how we'd have done if Franklin hadn't been here at the start of the season.

Of the 8 draws we’ve had in the Championship, you could make a valid case for half of them being turned into wins with better bowling, better pitches/balls, better weather, etc - I’m not sure it does any of us any good to attempt to rewrite history.

People can carp on all winter about it, but ultimately, this team is still Franklin’s team and whilst it’s easy to point at the last two games and in full Jim Bowen style say “look at what we cudda won!!” we’ve beaten the whipping boys in both cases.

What’s more, if we’re being brutally honest, I don’t feel like we’ve played that much better this last fortnight necessarily than the rest of the season. We’ve drawn as many games we could easily have lost as we have ones where we could make the case for having won them.
Would love to see us go down their next week and spoil things :lol:

“We’ve got to go to Trent Bridge and get something. And, I’m telling you now,
and... and... I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them, love it!”

(No apology at all for using that line for the second time this week 🥴)
My prediction- we will win handsomely at Trent Bridge and by a miraculous combination of results we will finish in a promotion spot.

It isn’t mathematically possible* for us to finish in a promotion spot.

*Unless FTECB deduct points from others OR award us some extra (and we all know that isn’t going to happen).
