CC :: Durham v Sussex

Makes you wonder how we'd have done if Franklin hadn't been here at the start of the season.
Weeeelllll, I dunno. If you remember in the first half of the season it was the dead pitches and a ball that went soft after a few overs that mean we couldn't take a wicket. Could another coach have changed that?

Maybe not but I heard things like Borthwick had to go through Franklin to agree declarations among other things. Cost us time to push for victory in a couple of games. We may still have came out with a draw. As you say the pitches were terrible but minor things like players body language seems to have improved recently.

I just think all wasn't well inside the dressing room. The declaration farce most definitely caused issues (think it was against Leicester) and the way Franklin answered the question about it at the members forum suggested it caused issues as he answered the question awfully as @The Red Telephone will vouch for

Heard other stories about unrest as I'm sure other regulars have.

You only have to look at how much the place was bouncing during the one day cup last year, and now since he's left we're winning games very well...…. common theme = No Franklin.

Former staff and players, family member were liking comments on social media when it was announced he was leaving..... again that tells you a lot.

No secret my view is he was a big problem at the club.

I think we have a lot of work to do over the winter, I still would like to see others leave the club, I don't have faith in them. Playing squad wise, genuinely believe we just need to be confident and for me that was drained from a lot of players this year for various reasons.

Some of the team selections have been bizarre in all formats. Just not a happy camp in my opinion.

We must recruit well this winter.

Love a good rumour how would people know unless they know the players borthwick liked Franklin for example

Looked like a proper team in this fixture. It's a crying shame that we're destined for another season in the second tier.

Shout out to the final James Franklin Appreciation Society (Incorporating Sean Dickson Small Dog Fan Club) meeting of the season. Apologies for absence - @Twisted

Spot on. But I feel that it is a happier place now, and not just because we have won a couple.

Excellent win. Pity about the CC games earlier in the season but that’s all water under the bridge now. Wonder if Killer is slowly edging his way into the 1st Team Coaching job full time?

Hopefully we perform next week and the decison is made to keep the appointments in house with various staff getting moved uo the ladder.
Couldn't give a toss who gets the so called high performance lead role be it Killer Walker or Gidman.
Personally i want a coaching staff who is here 12 months of the year including those winter nets.

:lol::lol::lol: crying here!

I was tempted to come along after work if there was 3 wickets left (or more) but those last few got cleaned up before I finished in the end.

Lord only knows what I'll do in winter, I guess study is the correct answer!

Well according to the above mentioned Franklin appreciation society and small dog fan club Lord Botham at the pie and pea supper meeting declared he thinks it will be an appointment from outside the club and someone who wont be nashing off to the hundred.

We all agreed it seemed a bit early to say that, and of course that doesn't mean it 100% as the appointment has to be got right and if killa is the best candidate or a great opportunity comes up for someone who will disappear off the hundred perhaps we should take it, but that's what was said by all accounts
