Apparently it didn’t affect him for the twenty/thirty odd more runs he scored after the incident, but now he can’t bowl?

I’ve been very vocal on here about the concussion protocol and the handling of it and I’m very supportive generally of it’s usage, it’s just very difficult to get on board with in this instance.

Concussion can be delayed mind, it's terrible when they let footballers continue on.

You'll see players get subbed at HT after playing on because once they sit down after the focus on playing and suddenly they are worse. Probably similar situation occurred.

But yes the cynic would say Ball is a better bowler and Pretorious a better batsman.

Oh I know, when I say I’ve been vocal on it - I am largely very very cautious when it comes to concussion and I’m generally very supportive of the idea of substitutes. Think I was one of the very few who supported the decision regarding Shakeel last year.

In the main, my criticism is around the lack of proper/adequate testing. I follow lots of sports and I’ve used the example of the NFL before - but if a player in the NFL is suspected of a concussion they are immediately removed from the game and have to undergo a testing process that lasts several minutes. I don’t believe it’s possible to adequately test for a concussion in the short time they seem to carry out such a check on the cricket field.
