CC : Durham v Lancashire

Superb that all round, but also some immense individual performances - Bedingham, Ackerman and Potts in particular, but also Ben Raine in the 1st innings with his 5.

3 innings defeats in a row for Lancashire
I think this result again goes to show what a team Durham can be when 3 or more of them play to their best. It just needs to happen a little more frequently ( in all forms of the game ) for them to be really challenging for throphies.

Yep, that’s us safe, not mathematically but as good as and I’m calling it.
Until the ECB charge us with being in possession of a loud and offensive tie deducting sufficient point to see us relegated and start the next season in Div 2 on -50 points.

I don’t think him and Woakes had to play every game either

Potts used 2nd change in his last test. It’s a waste.

Maybe I’m biased but I do watch a fair bit of the CC and there ain’t many better.
Lancashire lads sat close to us for this game were very impressed with Potts, obviously they knew of him and had seen him bowling for England etc. but they thought he was something special bowling against their batsmen in this match.

That’s good to hear some appreciation from rival fans

He’s got quicker in just a year too

He was phenomenal this morning, looked genuinely quick and full of energy. He bowled a mammoth spell at the start of the day and then returned with the new ball and didn’t look at all as if he was feeling tired.

Imagine getting 186 and deciding on the MotM boiling down to two players..... and neither of them is you.

Well that was most enjoyable even though it was bloody cold. To witness what I have these 4 days has been an absolute pleasure. Record partnership, record individual score and an academy product getting 9 wickets in an innings, absolutely wonderful stuff. Massive team effort, we bowled so well in the first innings which was a massive effort by all, we didn't get them a sniff. With regards to the comments above about the Somerset game, I had no complaints with what I saw, I don't think we were poor, just they were very good and we got some bad calls against us which I've mentioned, not at all worried about that one and we've bounced back in superb style this week. I said on here I thought Notts were a disgrace a few weeks ago with attitude etc worst I've seen in years... Step forward Lancashire who were on a whole different level, absolutely abysmal they were and they were fortunate to even get 1 point they were that pitiful. That spell today from Potts was something very special mind given the pitch and the ball, absolutely world class stuff. Congratulations lads, enjoy this win. Division one cricket again next season absolutely brilliant and I'm already looking forward to seeing what that brings. We're a good solid side, let nobody tell you otherwise.

It's been a long day at work but finally got home to watch the highlights. What a day for Potts. Thank heaven England went for Josh Hull.

I guess that won't happen this winter though.

It's been a great match and I think we are safe now. Might just need a couple of points.
