CC : Durham v Lancashire

After our Taunton twilight tonking we face a 'relegation 32 pointer' at home to Lancashire commencing Monday. A win would see us safe but lose this one and we really are up to our necks in the brown stuff.

We stand in seventh place on 130 points while our opponents are 24 points behind us in ninth having won only two CC games this season one of which was under clear blue skies at Blackpool back in May. In that game we were set 475 to win and at 313-3 we looked to be heading for an unlikely victory but no one could hang around with Robinson (171no) once Bedders went after a century in both innings. How Robbo could do with another knock like that. Also in that match Keaton Jennings predictably scored 115 and 155 and Aspinwall took an unpredicted 5fer for the Red rose.

Weather looks to be a bit iffy on Monday but OK after that (although that could change of course). No team news although our bowling attack will be anyone's guess.

Let's see what happens.

Lancs. coming into the game on back to back innings defeats for the first time since 1907 according to BBC

I really thought Stokes would be the man, but then got himself out attempting a reverse sweep which was completely unnecessary :(

I have almost forgiven him :)

After day 2 of Durham v Lancashire in the County Championship we will hold a member’s quiz and bingo evening at Seat Unique Riverside

Anybody know how long Turner is available for?
I thought he would have left after t20 group stages but then weeks later surprisingly re appeared to play championship cricket.

Tomorrow’s toss could be so vital given the expected moisture over the next 24 hours.

Since a draw isn’t the worst result for us, I’m expecting that we’ll have a good pitch for this one.
