CC:: Durham v Derbyshire (A)

Hopefully will bat all day for 300+ .Three batting points and a big score from Bancroft and a canny knock from Poynter

Not a good start this morning with the bat. 4 down now
Poor performance. Thank fuck for the rain.

As you know I'm a big fan of digging in but when you're scoring at this rate with an old ball you're allowing too much pressure to build up on your batsmen. I simply don't think Bedingham (or Borthwick since his return) has the defensive game for this approach. In a similar situation Billy Godleman simply came down the ground and smashed 40 odd runs.
Borthwick's scores this season...0, 1, 100, 24, 0, 15, 21, 4, 27 &14. with 5wkts@ 50.04.
Stuck my neck out a couple of games ago and said he's been shit aside from that knock at Chelmsford. If he wasn't captain and Dickson was in better nick he'd be at risk of bring dropped. Plays himself in then inexplicably gets out with some half arsed, hard hands poke outside off stump. Seems to be a technical fault on that side, he might be better taking up guard on off stump and focusing on leg side shots for now.

His bowling is filthy, two full tosses every over. You just need somebody to hold down and end, but he's costly. Ironically economy is one thing Trevaskis does very well, but the weather conditions make it a moot point ATM

Dropped three catches last match and rightly dropped himself from the cordon

Well done Ned - spot of positive batting taking four 4s off a Hughes over to get to his 50.
Surely that the last we'll see of Poynter for a while after a shot like that?

Aitchison wants to stick to his normal style of bowling - that farcical over before tea looked as if it contained a couple of highly dubious deliveries.
God bless a sport that even the commentators are sick of. that huge sigh during the 5 minutes wait for them to get a helmet, then that last over of filth, class
The second sigh was the best when Aitchison began bowling his crap.:lol:
