CC : Derbyshire vs Durham

Derbyshire squad announced, our own social media is too busy advertising concerts.
Amazing isn't it ? There we are playing our best cricket in almost a decade and all they seem to be interested in is trying to persuade folk to sit in the pouring rain watching a bunch of old has beens ( and that's coming from a Who fan.)

The ground as a venue is a huge revenue stream though so without people watching those has beens we wouldn’t be able to assemble the squad we have.

Good job we're not playing at home tomorrow. If the rain is as bad in Durham as it is in some parts of the area today we might have struggled to get any play tomorrow.

A lot of counties have just released their squad

The club need to have successful concerts to bring in revenue
Yes, I think we, myself included, attach too much importance to the announcement of squad and its timing. It tells us little that we couldn't 2nd guess.

To be fair it's a big event for the club. There aren't many bigger than The Who although technically there's only half of the original band left. They can still put on a big show. Would have gone myself but the prices are a bit high for me these days.

There'll be a certain banned poster absolutely livid he didnt get to complain about derby twittering their team before ours was announced

Yeah, I’d add myself to that list too. Ultimately, aslong as the lads in the squad know they’re in it doesn’t matter a jot whether obsessive cricket badgers like us know or not?!

The only sent email they sent me was one informing me I could get a £5 return on the bus for the match at Gosforth next month.

I didn’t even get that. I wonder if because I have an NE postcode they think I can walk to Gosforth 😁
