if only him and Ellis had compromised who knows what we could have been.it's a massive shame

Well one of them is a complete liar ,
Keane mentions the phone call from short about not being at training and that he should live up here ,

Short said this didn't happen !

I know who I believe

Lots of basic things in the second part of your post there , that we haven't been doing for years !

and no manager has been able to sort it out ,
has to be down to the players, surely ?

Yep. Over the years we have signed player and they have started well but then over time you see them frustrated at lack of movement and options. It then influences them and they stop doing it as well.

For years Cattermole has never offered himself for a pass. I have stated on here for a long time that he hides. He put himself into positions to not receive the ball. He holds his hand up saying "no don't pass it to me". What changes you got with a man in the centre of the pitch who doesn't want the ball unless in 10 yards of space?

Cheers mate. Lack of confidence can be turned around over a single game, if we're in holiday camp mode Grayson is finished and we may as well be shot of him now.

I wouldn't say holiday camp mode, just shellshocked and no outlet.

I'm giving him a few games once Watmore, Williams, McManaman and McGeady are all fit. If we are still crap then then he needs serious scrutiny.

He also needs to sort central midfield out. I know he's a drunken bum but Gibson is at least comfortable on the ball so probably needs a few games.

Glad to see the penny has finally dropped on Cattermole. As soon as he got that red card against Hull we should have moved on and got someone better. I remember @WASTID gettimg absolutely mullered for talking perfect sense.
Strange you pick that out as he went on to have as good a season he's had for us. Named North East player of the year off the back if it.
Oh and that red card decision was a joke, Dossenas in the same game though....

Some people have such short memories.

Yes, he was awful today and has been all season. However he's had many a blinder over the years and the wins and whenever he's had a run of games, it's coincided with a run of form.

Not to mention Yaya Toure said he was his toughest opponent and manager after manager has made him captain.

You can tell he's injured at the minute, his body is so stiff and he's always leaning back when he passes the ball

No he hasn't. I would proffer he has about 1 to 2 a season...

Which ones?

He always finished the season well, with the exception of Di Canio's when he was injured.

His form helped Poyet, Advocaat, Alladycre keep their jobs and Sunderland in the prem.

Gets totally exposed in a 4-4-2 especially when Ndong goes in headless chicken mode. Injuries and poor lifestyle have fucked him, simply doesn't have the legs any more and isn't quick enough in the mind to make up for it either. Quite sad to see random Championship nobodies fly past him with ease.
