Cattermole is a fecking liability!

He wasn't a weak link at all. He was very effective. Kirchhoff sat and sprayed it about, Cattermole did the dirty work and kept it simple, M'Vila was box to box. An effect is trio
Do you think cattermole is capable of being a dynamic force in midfield for the next four seasons?

His time has been and gone. He is a relic of a bygone era of battling, diving in and rabble rousing play.

We glaringly need a bit of style in midfield and have done for around twenty years, but we yearn for the Kevin ball type.

People starting to wake up about this fucker finally? Some of us on here have been saying how shite he has been for seasons (bar a few odd games when we look like being relegated) but we just got a load of shit off the little boys with their crush on him.

He has to be our worst midfielder at the moment, doesn't seem capable of doing anything well. If he doesn't buck his ideas up he shouldn't be playing. The game is just passing him by and players are just passing it around him whilst he marks fuck all.

If I remember right, quite a few years ago I was derided for claiming Steven Davis at Southampton was a much better player than Cattermole. He is exactly the sort of player who does the simple things well at the level we should be aiming for. Pass and move. Always available for it to help his team mates out and stop you being under constant pressure.

Cattermole has always been uncomfortable receiving the ball if not in plenty of space. If he gets harried he gives it away. And he knows it hence why he often says no to a pass.

Been saying for years that I long for the day when our club is rid of him.

No. My first point on this thread was that Cattermole no longer looks like the player he was at the end of 2015/16 season.

A host of injuries appear to have taken their toll.

Edit: he was better than just a battler diving in. He could / can pass the ball

i couldn't agree more. Players are found out when trying to emulate superior players or trying to show off. We have players who hide and are often lazy and lacking in concentration.

Cattermole was decent as a holding midfielder who when he done his job and passed the ball on to someone with more technical ability than him then he looked good. The problem was, either him thinking he was better than he actually is or Managers not having a clue how to play him was when he tried to play football. He is for a professional technically f***ing hopeless but when played right he was an asset. Nowadays he looks shot to bits.

Catts and O'Shea playing in the pro-am golf at Close House on Wednesday.
maybe the players should have to do double the player community work every time we loose?

defeats come at a price

our players show no fear of defeats, it simply doesnt matter

You have to wonder what level he would stand out technically. Conference North?

Good question, he just looks so unnatural with the ball its frightening. I suppose his tactical awareness and footballing brain would probably give him more time where it would be less apparent like.

I think Cattermole is another example of how badly we manage injuries as a club. He has missed most of the last couple of season through injury and now he looks absolutely finished. In 2013 and 2014 he had spells when he was absolutely outstanding, playing in a team that was up against it every week, yet still getting some of the top statistics in Europe. I would like to know what goes on with our medical and physio teams. There is either something we are doing that we should not be doing, something we should be doing that we are not doing, or everybody else is doing something that is not fair that is giving them an advantage.

We seem to have a disproportionate number of players that become injured, have extended periods unable to play, and then either come and swiftly get injured again, or come back and seem to be much diminished as players beyond basic fitness issues.

His lifestyle leaves a lot to be desired too which doesn't help his injuries

Hate it when a player who has the ball looks at Catts , then Catts points at where the ball should be played.
In other words " I don't want the ball".
Another player when he misses games becomes better, people soon forget how many games this lad has missed over the years hear and a handful of half decent games he simply has been a waste.
But typical of the screw up this club has made

Agree wholeheartedly.
