Carlton Fairweather RIP

RIP. Condolences to all his family and friends. Sounds like he was a top bloke and a massive influence on many players/people at the club . These are the ones who go under the radar unless you are in contact with them, but then you see these are the ones who pave the way for young players to grow as players and people while doing it in a dignified way.

Absolutely, Carlton amongst others at Academy are a massive part of how my son has turned out today hard working, respectful and always positive, exactly how I would describe Carlton

I suspect Pancreatic Cancer UK would respectfully disagree with that, but they may argue more could be done.
Sadly, prevention isn't always possible. Cancer doesn't discriminate, it can develop in anyone.
From memory, pancreatic is also one of the hardest to treat.

Very sad news. I hope he was comfortable and not in pain. Poor bloke.
Yes, but I wasn't talking about the UK

Such sad news. I really feel sad about this. I can’t imagine how his family must be feeling.

RIP from your Sunderland AFC family. I hope his family can, in some way, find some comfort in the knowledge he gave so much to our club and take comfort in knowing he was respected by so many people.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

RIP.

It’s took me a while to digest this one. Known this man since I was six years old he taught me how to be a better footballer and always had kind words even when I was going off the rails.

When I didn’t make it as a footballer he got me into coaching was a man i could turn to when I needed help or a little push a long.

A friend a mentor and a legend to many we have sadly lost

Gutted

A fantastic man who always had a smile on his face. A brilliant role model for so many and who cared deeply not only about the football side but the whole person. Will be greatly missed. A mentor to many.
R.I.P Carlton rest easy.

Coached my oldest son for little bit when he was involved at his school and while not involved with my youngest son at the academy made an impression on both of them and always set the highest standards while at the same time came across as a real nice bloke.

Whenever he was around the training ground or at the school he always had a positive vibe that followed him.

Would never had known he’d played football or been part of the crazy gang. No ego no bullshit.
Just one of those blokes who u knew when he spoke he knew what he was talking about when he was around football.

Really good, positive person and it’s an absolute shame he’s not around for young footballers to learn from.

Such a shame.
RIP Carlton

What a smashing post mate, have a like.

You have brightened my night as this has made me feel very sad.

Thanks.

I got to know Carlton at my local gym. He would be walking on the treadmill keeping me company as I ran.

We used to talk most days if our paths crossed. He would talk about his early days and living in South London and also his passion for coaching. He was a lovely person and I miss our chats.
