Carlisle United

My Mate is a Newport fan and he said Carlisle completely dominated but can’t put the ball in the net.
Newport one chance and scored.
The sucker-punch game; successful teams have used it for years. Forest were promoted, won the League & two ECs with it (as one older example of many) i.e. defend first play on the break then defend well again. Same game different era but it works at any level with the right players.
Brunton Park the first away game i was taken to in 1976, was in the home end and couldn't believe the amount of our fans in the away section. Drew the game 2-2 after they scored a late equalizer.
Carlisle had a pretty good side then iirc.

Need wins.
They deperately need one to break the phase they're in; loads of ball possession, create semi-chances but can't score so the longer it goes without being able to take the lead the pressure builds. Their defensive record was not great with MW but we need to see what MH has brought to the side. First off though they need to manage a goal or two then see about defending it. As I've intimated there are enough games/points to get them but they need a start. I listened to radio but without actually seeing just how close (or not) to a goal they were it's hard to tell, I'll await the highlights because nothing has arrived on Bleak Midwinter yet. Other fringe sides are also picking up points so Carlisle need to get something before the gap to safety is too big.

What was you game like today? Were you unlucky or were you sussed out.

We were poor.
Harrogate not much better.
Worst performance for some weeks.

I suppose there comes a point when hungry teams like Harrogate will have more desire to fight/battle for their lives. IH won't be happy but he's taken Swindon to a position where a slighly more relaxed approach by the players could produce today's result. A single goal away defeat shouldn't set alarm bells ringing, next game is the one that matters. Mr H knows what you can do so it's when you aren't doing what he asks he'll deal with it.

Just stay out of the end of season drudgery
Tranmere looked awful at Swindon.
They are in trouble.
Some weeks ago I didn't think Tranny would be drawn into the bottom two despite not being able to score but now I'm not so sure. They seem to leak critical goals and can't score to bail themselves out.

Mr SwindonOnTour, Which teams (that you've obviously seen) would you position in the bottom two spots?

Getting beat already
Sorry I'm a bit late but no they aren't. And the way results are going tonight down there getting something would be superb, Tranny have just conceded.
Scrambly end where they could easily have lost, five good chances for Walsall. Game over and a good point.
