Can't stop watching Tommy Watson (ROCKETMAN)

Some time after the playoff final there was a link on here to a youtube clip of Tommy Watson practising the exact same shot from which he scored. Training alone supervised by a coach, he must have put it in the net 10 times.

Anyone still got the link?
Yes please to that - love to show my son the work/practice that sits behind such moments of joy

I know were still shyte in comparison to most of the prem but Tommy's goal and the narrative and shear joy surrounding it is such an epic slice of Sunderland history that i think it will be watched for generations to come ..So goodbye Tommy and thanks for one of the greatest memories in my Sunderland supporting career!Good luck in all you do in the future!

I've got just one gripe

Tommy doesn't nail his slide, he needed to keep it going finishing with arms aloft ready to be mobbed by the rest of the onrushing Lads.

He's young, he'll learn.

I can forgive him that

Thank you mate.

Rather than being a one off that shot in the playoff final looks more like his party piece.😉

Practice makes perfect.
As soon as he shaped up to shoot i knew it was in, watched a lot of him on U21 streams and it's his trademark goal.

Such a shame to have lost him, he's got all the attributes to have a top level career.

That skills thing they did with him Riggy, Isador and Mayenda he stood out as having by far the best technique but with a very understated demeanor

Totally agree mate I had a similar thought.

One last minute winner - yeah potentially a bit of luck.

Two - there maybe more to it.

Three in three games? That isn't coincidence. Imagine the odds you'd have got of betting on us winning all 3 games with goals after 85 mins.

I've heard stuff like 'it was written in the stars ' because that's how it happened. Like it was some miracle. Again ignoring the fact that we finished both games fitter, stronger and on the front foot when our opponents were physically and mentally done.

Not so much written in the stars as our incredibly intelligent Coach working out the advantage he could gain on the opposition was to be fitter at the end of the game and hence the mid season - pre season

Honestly didn't even register that it had went in for what felt like forever, no clue how he managed to carefully bend it around their lad so easily, never see a strike like that
