Canny stat this

I wonder how quick Devon was? Inconsistent but he did seem rapid.
Yeah a legit “fast” but sprayed it all over. He’d be going for 7 an over in todays game.
Steve Waugh says they always breathed a sigh of relief when Malcolm was left out for England.
They could never understand it agreeing that though he was erratic he also bowled nightmare balls which were unplayable and which had you worrying about your safety.
We were better off going with 4 or 5 Right Arm MF sending it down at 78mph hoping for a morsel of seam or swing.

A turgid era of English Bowling that imo. Fraser, Igglesden, McCague, Lewis, Cork was OK, Mullalley, Daffy etc.

Curiously Craig White burst onto the scene as a genuine allrounder who was about 80mph then by the end of his career found an extra 90mph. Good cricketer imo.

170 mph

Agree tho I liked Craig White and Cork. It wasn’t so much that they were all shit, Fraser was a good bowler before his hip troubles. We just didn’t have any that were top class to supplement the decent ones.
