Canada vs Australia.

Canada's previous best 10 overs in this tournament was 41-2.

They had 41 in the 5th over in this game.

One of the Canadian batsmen has just been hit in the nads, on the full from a Shaun Tait delivery. Ouch.

And his replacement is a 16 year-old.

Imagine being 16 and walking out to face Shaun Tait. I would cack my pants.

Ponting is an absolute prick. Going on like that on the field.

Does it surprise you? As I said before, it said a lot about them when a fellow player - associate or not - gets poleaxed by a very fast bowler and only 3 (Tait, Smith and Clarke) went over to see how he was. ***** the most of them.

It doesn't suprise like, the guy has always been a tosser.

Smith looked like he was going to cry or something! If he had a beef with it he should have had a word afterwards instead of acting like a spoiled brat and throwing the ball.

Exactly right, do not see the point at all at publically berating him for going near a catch, especially when it's the youngest player in their team, can't see any positive effect in it.

There's something very irking about Ponting's on field behaviour at times.

Karma - Ponting appears to have damaged his finger in taking the catch. Shame.

It's almost an attitude you see at some club cricket teams. If someone makes a mistake the team are into them straight away. Double tea pots, tutting etc. It can't help things on the field, just creates a bad atmosphere and ruins the confidence of the person who makes the error.

Now, when there's a high catch and a couple of lads go for it, will Smith have the conviction and confidence to go for the catch or will he be thinking he's going to get rattled if he fucks up again?

I'm not watching the game but maybe that's why he threw the ball to the ground? I'm just going off text commentary.

Nah, he completely blanked Smith and Smith was looking rather sheepish afterwards. Didn't join in the celebration for the wicket. Ponting gave him daggers after he took the catch.

Ponting clearly called yet Smith kept running towards the ball. Imagine thats why he's irked. They collided and the drop could easily have gone down.

Aye, but if Smith has his eye on the ball and is concentrating he may not have heard the call.

It was Smith's error, but there's no need for Ponting's reaction/attitude on the field of play. He should know better as captain.

All seems a bit silly from a man of his experience, and it definitley doesn't to be done in the middle.
