Can we keep this brilliant team together?

Nobody will value our players like posters on here.
It doesn't need to be silly money, but given how relatively little we spent on, say, Roefs, the profit would be large.

Not saying I agree, and I'd rather the player on the pitch than the money looking good on the balance sheet etc, but for financial sustainability it might be needed.

Not the popular input right now, but selling one player for big money is still out best strategy.

If there's a player we have that will command an almost inflated price because of performance this season, then we should sell and reinvest.

Some will go, others will come. I am confident the gaffers have people lined up who will be equal or better than who we let go.

Our team isn't one of standout individuals who carry us, so it won't have a huge impact to lose players.
My only concern is the effect that the extra workload and travelling time will have on the likes of Xhaka. He's just finished a full season of the PL, and in a couple of weeks he will be playing in and travelling all over the U.S. with Switzerland. We all know how vitally important he is to us and, what I'm trying to say is who do we try to attract in the summer who can do for us what Xhaka has done. There was talk last summer of Gendouzi. Anyone got any other ideas?

Sadiki and Roefs are the only two key players that I think will have massive offers on the table, the type that the club will probably deem too good to turn down.

European qualification definitely helps mind.

Ghosolfi signed Manu Kone at Roma. Now he'd be next, next level but who thought we'd sign Xhaka?

Roma are broke and need to sell. Stranger things have happened.

Can't see why not, we're in the Europa league now and that's sure to be a tantalising prospect to all of our players (that play regularly). I can see some fringe players leaving, but not our star players.

Two things to remember.

Firstly, our recruitment also takes into account player:'s attitudes. It is no coincidence that Le Bris has a PhD in sports psychology. We really cannot overstate his expertise here.

Secondly. We are a Premier League team playing in the Europa League. There just aren't that many teams in the world that can compete with us either financially or in terms of the level of competition they can offer (this isn't arrogant it's just a basic economic reality about the PL compared to other leagues).
Good post

I suspect Habib Diarra may be the one to move on. He may feel that another club is better suited to develop his talents. Just my tuppence worth.

I don't think it was that he never had the ability or the tenacity. It was more that he fell out of favour with the manager, which beggars belief.
They sacked the manager who bought Le Fee, that never helps a player settle and then they appointed 2 more managers including the tinkerman. Their loss is our gain and I'm pretty sure Le Fee won't be going anywhere. He'll get a big contract as a sweetener and he bloody deserves it.
