Can we keep this brilliant team together?

Some will go, others will come. I am confident the gaffers have people lined up who will be equal or better than who we let go.

Our team isn't one of standout individuals who carry us, so it won't have a huge impact to lose players.

Most of the lads look like they’re having a good time here.
There’ll be more game time across the squad next season now as we have more games! Plus we should be able to attract some more decent ballers to join in

The only one I'm genuinely scared to lose is Enzo, simply because I think he could make almost any team in the world better.

I don't say them words lightly either.
He’s said he’s not going anywhere. Said in an interview the other day that although he’s flattered by interest from other clubs that Sunderland have given him so much and he’s going to repay that.

I think Europe will see us keep the core together.

I expect a shock sale now or January but have every faith that money will be reinvested.

Am I right that our league position has recouped our spend from last summer? Europe has probably cleared our slate 🔴⚪🔴

We apparently got just shy of £170m in prize money, so aye pretty much

I genuinely cant see any of the older lads leaving.

Out of the younger lads, Sadiki would be irreplaceable in my opinion.
if we did decide to cash in on him wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t even try to replace him and go for a totally different type of player.

Two things to remember.

Firstly, our recruitment also takes into account player:'s attitudes. It is no coincidence that Le Bris has a PhD in sports psychology. We really cannot overstate his expertise here.

Secondly. We are a Premier League team playing in the Europa League. There just aren't that many teams in the world that can compete with us either financially or in terms of the level of competition they can offer (this isn't arrogant it's just a basic economic reality about the PL compared to other leagues).
His PhD is in sports physiology. His psychology qualification is only Masters level

Plus RLB is like a second Dad to him

- be an "average" SAFC player
"Boss, I want to go to e.g. Chelsea now"
Ok don't tell me, go tell Granit.

I don't really get it. I don't think any of our fans really can. But we're not a "selling club" at the moment.

Not a new thing. This board waited years for us to sell Rigg for £5m. But that's just not us anymore.

We need the majority to stay and build again. We’ve a canny few to ship out again imo as we need two bloody squads now. Scary

We can replace those who go with the carrot of Europe, but I suspect anyone leaving will be on the club's terms. Sadiki has seemed like from day one, he fits a mould of player the top clubs covet, and he seemed like he didn't want to over-commit last week to staying, but he's so young. Would love to see him and Xhaka one more season.

Knars. ☝️☝️☝️

I think getting europe will see the likes of Roefs stay for atleast one more season.
Me too. Not sure he's ready, same for Sadiki. I think we'll manage to hang on to anyone we see as a longer term keep. Nordi will be the lad who'll attract the most interest.
