Can I have a slight twist

Those family members and friends will have provided the support network all season that’s allowed the players to flourish. Some of these lads will be here on their own and will have had times during the season where they’ve missed home or needed a familiar voice. If the players think it’s important to have them there to celebrate then who are any of us to say otherwise.

About the lap of thanks, there was far too many people on the pitch, like thousands of players families and friends, you couldn’t see any of the players just loads of random people.

You are right of course.
However the wait whilst the media duties were concluded was far more incongruous.
Hey man there are 50000 people sat waiting patiently outside … tell the media to wait or do it on the pitch.

We were presented with the play final trophy and had done the lap of honour last year far quicker than a simple lap of mutual appreciation yesterday.

Is making the players families feel part of the club and community really such a bad thing?

Good point

I suspect there was a lot of non football related people on the pitch …. Office staff etc. it’s nice for the whole club to be recognised but not sure holding 50000 people back for an hour to see office staff is quite what I had in mind …. It’s just not what I was expecting.

The speeches were brilliant, the celebrations immediately after the game were brilliant. One of the best days ever

Did KLD make a speech? I'm sure i read somewhere he was going to unless it was RLB and a miss read it.
I definitely read a line from the club somewhere that he was doing a speech in the end, then all seen of him was him chugging a bottle on the big screen. Maybe he had one too many and asked Regis to take over
