However the way you have simplified the equation (by removing all the numbers that feature both above and below the dividing line) makes it slightly harder for the less mathematically minded to follow why it's correct
I did have it all explained more clearly, but a post prior to mine more or less explained the same method, and I referred to it in my post, so I didn't think it necessary to post it all again.
