Cameron Bancroft ball tampering

mackembhoy

Striker
Surprised this didn't get posted yesterday.

Most were probably ever gonna get in terms of admission they were all aware.

Look forward to him back in a Durham shirt.

Impacted our promotion bid them suddenly turning to him due to his form for us.

Really good interview from him. Never gonna get anything like this from the rest of them.

I mean how is this a shock?

they were Doing it long time before he came in the team

I’ll keep repeating this fact as it’s worth it and I don’t understand why it never gets said

David Warner was Australia’s ball shiner, every over of every innings of every test. He also had mass strappings on his hand, on most fingers

finally South Africa were the ones to complain about it, and he removed it

literally the very next test is sand paper gate, when Bancroft is suddenly the ball shiner

listen, I wouldn’t have signed the lad, he deserved to get banned, but he was also thrown to the wolves, this went on for a long time, every Test and obviously the bowlers knew it, probably organized it

in the ashes in Perth they cheated, no way the ball could reverse swing

also added bonus cook, most honest man in cricket, said in his book Warner said he told him in dressing room after a beer how he put alcohol or someit on his plaster to do it

England weren’t saying it was that wrong but it obviously was going on for years

Australia didn’t investigate as they knew they’d have to suspend the whole team

Good read. He was fed to the wolves by Warner and whoever else in that side, and I don't think Smith was that much into it either. I'll still not let the fidgety little bastard forget it like.

I always recall Australia coming out to field against England in the 1989 Ashes, under leaden Manchester skies, wearing total zinc sun block on their lips and noses. By the end of the day, none of them had any sun block left and Terry Alderman had bent it round corners to obliterate our batting.

Monty Panesar admitted to ball tampering with mints, zips and suncream in his autobiography. Cheating has been going on a long time.

Could re-open a right can of worms. Feels like it's been simmering away with Bancroft.
Yes,you have to wonder why he agreed to discuss the issue again after such a long time. CA trying to swerve the issue by putting the onus on him to go to them instead of v.v.Anyone who knows the slightest about cricket realizes the bowlers would have known about it,likewise would Lehman. He's the one who really annoys me. Another crocodile years show, resigns, quietly sneeks back in but keeps a low profile, escaping without any sanction whatsoever.

Lehman is a massive twat and he’s got away with it. There’s no way others in the team didn’t know about it. Anyone who has played in cricket teams know what goes on in dressing rooms. The bowlers f***ing knew as well. Bancroft has been thrown under the bus big time in this.
They are now talking about Smith taking on the captaincy again.
Cheating convict twats.

Bancroft is rightly pissed off that only he has had his international career halted indefinitely while the rest continued as soon as CA could pick them again. Even Lehman got off scot-free and he's right up there with Warner in the arsehole stakes.

We've seen over the winter in their series with India that Australia are still a long way from playing test cricket with any degree of humility or gamesmanship and are still quite happy to cross the line in pursuit of results.

I found it difficult to accept in the first place that fielders would be deliberately altering the state of the ball to get it to swing and the bowlers would be in the dark. They had to know what to expect from the ball and, in fact, the whole plan around who would bowl at what times was likely tailored to when they expected to get the ball in the condition where it would reverse. It was always scarcely believable that Lehmann and the bowlers didn't know but CA seemed to go with the position that if a player/coach wasn't caught doing it, then their innocence should be assumed.

Bancroft was picked for the Ashes, off the back of a good season for us, and averaged 11 from 4 innings. I think if he'd come in and hit a ton he'd still be playing for Australia.

CA apparently have contacted Bancroft. Personally couldn't give a toss about the whole sordid affair. But from Durham's point of view I hope Bancroft is focused on his cricket at Durham and not now thinking "Christ I have re-opened a can of worms here"
