Calvert-Lewin (discussion on transfer)

Wouldn’t be surprised if we offer him a contract at the end of the window, if we fail to bring a striker in.
Daft question maybe but ….if Liverpool get Isaak plus that other new lad and Salah -cannot see Jayden Danns getting a sniff?
Maybe we waiting …or has that ship sailed ?

Danns is just another unknown quantity really. Would be a pointless signing imo as he would probably just be another option alongside wilson and mayenda. If we're going to sign a centre forward then it either needs to be someone better than what we have or a completely different option (I.e. target man or something)

Pardew 😳😮🤣

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Pardew has now suggested Everton have made a mistake in allowing Calvert-Lewin to depart.

“On their day [Calvert-Lewin and Viktor Gyokeres], there’s not much between them,” said Pardew.

When he’s on his game, he’s as good as any striker in the Premier League. If you’re a Man United fan and you’re thinking Gyokeres is going to come through the door and work with Amorim as he did at Sporting CP… that looks like it’s gone.

“If Calvert-Lewin has a day and Gyokeres has his day, they’re very similar. Of course, the consistency level of Calvert-Lewin is the big, big problem with him.”
They’re nothing alike whatsoever

Fits the profile in terms of experienced striker who knows what’s needed in the lone forward role, but the injuries make it a signing you can’t really make

Only nets he busts are his Fishnets. Doesn’t seem to be a long list of clubs fighting for his signature. Obviously if he signs for us he is class
