Callum Doyle

I don’t think we ought to be too disappointed with this one. Hardly played in the latter stages of the season and really out of the defensive options looked the most ropey

Don't recall us being linked with Doyle any where since season ended.
His farewell tweet to fans suggested there was no coming back.

It certainly used to be but living in Cov it’s much more apparent now than it once was and has been built up in to more than it really deserves.
Its our fault though. The Coventry fiasco in 77 was a disgrace but in all honesty I used to go to Sunderland / Coventry games in the early 80s and they were just dull affairs with no real crowd input. Then stuff like the Summerbee / Frogatt incident and us seming to get more into the Jimmy Hill hatred thing with age seemed to spark things off in recent years.

No links in the press

No mention from the manager

His own statement was a thank you, nothing more

Can’t remember a single poster on here wanting him back

And yet :lol::lol::lol:

Sunderland taunted as Coventry City win Man City transfer battle

I don't get it though, literally couldn't give two shits about them, they're irrelevant.
I get the dislike at the time of the delayed kick off and for a while after that. My Dad was livid, never forgave them but the rivalry now is a manufactured one. Not helped by the second delayed kick off relegation or Speedie trying to knack Bennett but there’s no real need for it.

97 seemed to help kick it off again

We haven't been as he wouldn't get in our side so why would we waste a loan on him? Plus City won't want him back here as he was on the bench for much of the second half of the season.
