When we had our allotment, the rhubarb took absolutely no looking after at all. It was more like a weed than out else, it cropped like rhubarb was going out of fashion.

I'm not sure what the official guides say, but I planted two batched that I grew from seed. One is in fairly crap quality soil that spends most of it's day in the shade. I had a bit of unused space next to the shed where the grass had died after junk has been piled and rather than grass seed, used old decking board to make it into a small bed, perhaps 1.5m x 0.5m. The rhubarb there does brilliantly. I get too much off that and it only gets sun in perhaps the last few hours of the day. Swiss chard and rocket does well there too.
The other I planted in the top border of my veg patch, which gets sun all day. I dug a load of compost, manure and sand in to make good quality soil, though the neighbours trees the other side of the fence does make it dryer than I'd like. The red currents next to it do brilliantly (last year we got fed up of harvesting and trying to store so left a lot to the birds), but that rhubarb is always a bit average. It grows and I get a few short stems, nothing like what I get next to the shed.

It musn't take much looking after, We moved into our new house a year ago last weekend and the side of the house is covered with the stuff and we've done nowt with it.
Finally got my greenhouse built. Now just need to put the stuff I got from the garden centre I to slightly bigger pots.

I’ve got mine in a pallet with some salad as well. I bought these pots that sit perfect inside a euro pallet.

No need to keep them in a greenhouse, but they need a lot of attention if you put them in hanging baskets that will dry out very quickly.

Agreed. A bed or trug if you have the space would be best. I also find they do better if you move them every 3-4 years. In pots that might be to plant the runners and eventually replace the older plants. When I have moved the bed they are in, I've done similar where I replant the runners then if they are established well, take up the old plants. I think they just exhaust the soil after a while.

Just pulled all my garlic from last autumn.
First time I've grown it, and got some f***ing beauties. Well chuffed. Drying out nicely in the summerhouse.
Space for more beetroot now.
Some tiddlers but some good uns. Really pleased.

You’re probably best off just ordering them from eBay.
All my chilli plants got saturated in aphids, somebody at work said to spray them with soapy water… I have ironically killed my plants trying to protect them

Managed to get some at dobbies yesterday so apart from putting some pak choi in when I get another bad of compost everything is in
Dobbies had some in, got one a couple of weeks ago

Champion, happy days! Once my new chilli plugs arrive then I’m sorted for the summer now. Now I have the greenhouse I will do everything from seed next year and save myself a small fortune.

How often do you water your onions fellas?
Some yellowing on the tips of the leaves. Online, alot of people saying only water every 3 or 4 days. I'm watering everyday.

I would try just water them every other day. Cutting back to every 3-4 days could cause them to potentially bolt if it’s sudden, as they’re used to regular watering. When we had an allotment we just watered every 2-3 days, usually just due to our availability more than anything.

I try to water every 2-3 days in general, except when there are newly planted out stuff with a small root ball and it is really hot and dry.
If you water every day then it can lead to poor root development as they don't need to do much and that can result in the plant getting loads of water but very little nutrient out of the soil. Obviously if things are wilting then you are not watering enough.

One of my chilli plants seems to have a load of white flies on the leaves, I really want to act before the rest of my plants are infected. Any diy ideas I can have a go with before the time it takes an Amazon delivery? I’d post a pic but my Imgur account appears to have been disabled. @DaveH @Butcher's Coat
