I thought the younger players actually performed better than the more experienced players

Neil certainly did. He was the best player on the park. Doyle was good for 3/4 of the match but the 1/4 that he decided to start banging it long coincided with our worst spell. Cirkin looks a very classy player going forward but defensively suspect. Hopefully that improves with more match time. Embleton was threatening at times.

Yes he wanted to be Billy big Bollox in front of cheering fans
I've watched it about 10 times now and he was offside until just before the ball was played at least. The player running back might possibly have played him 9n side just as the ball was kicked but that is by no means certain. There's no way to tell of it was the player was offside or not. Umpires call.

I thought Cirkin was so so. Early days mind, probs still a little nervous. I'm sure he'll come good.

I thought Pritchard looked good when he came on. Stewart was very good in the first half. Overall, I thought we played well. Had we gone in at half time 3 up it would have been justified.

Yeah they are decent players, just raw, they need to understand when to just calm things down and play simple rather than play a glory pass and lose the ball, on the flip side they have to play forward fast and with purpose. It will come though, we may sacrifice games in the process though.

If McGeady does not show boat with the 1v1 , we could have strolled this game. He was sloppy to lose possession for their goal too. Always a threat and a creator ofcourse, but I hope he was told.

Any other day we would win comfortably. They had one brilliant shot on target which was their goal

We should have won comfortably. McGeady should have buried his chance. Stewart could have had a hat trick. Embo (I think) went close.

Best team lost.

Pritchard and Embleton will be competing for that position. Both did well tonight.

The linesman has guessed, and he's guessed correctly to be fair. On the RR footage Flanagan is offside on every frame until the ball is visible, and the ball only became visible when Gooch crossed it.

Necessarily offside, but very close, as the defender darts back when the ball is played.

Beautifully explained
