Burnley away

Unfortunately he doesn't

Timing is unfortunate that he is just starting on aways in our most popular season but thems the breaks

Yep for everyone who shouts for changing the system to allow people who have no or low points to be able to attend aways now they are popular, the people who have been to Cardiff/Swansea/Norwich/Plymouth/Portsmouth etc etc should shout twice as loud - The system is not perfect (no system would be) but it is about as fair as we are going to get

I agree.

The only weekness that needs resolving is to ensure that the person attending the match gets the point, not the person purchasing the ticket.

It’s relatively easy to pick up away tickets on the black market as people with high points will always purchase t whether they are going to attend or not with the certainty that they can sell the ticket on.

Sunderland tickets on the dark web😂

I disagree, it’s a closed shop with those who can get tickets, always buying them even if just to sell on.

My youngest can’t do Norwich on a Tuesday, as he’ll have school for the midweek games.

So effectively the answer is tough shit.

I’m sorry but that’s not good enough, kids should have a chance too. Not a cartel.

I’m sure someone can post the away tickets from last year. The vast majority went to GS.

How does that work?
Anyone?

I missed out on 43 Points (logged on Phase 2 at 10:00, sold out by 10:02).
No one has sent me an "extra" ticket.
Nobody sent the Manchester branch any extra tickets either.

We had a number of people who logged on at 10.00am at the start of phase 2, the same as you. Some were successful, some weren't.

But tickets have been appearing on the ticket site every now and again since last tuesday. Those same people who were unsuccessful first time round, kept trying, and some did manage to get some more.

This idea that branches just get given tickets is a myth, but people on this board still thinks it happens

Because it’s easier to blame a branch for “taking all the tickets” than it is to admit they didn’t put In the graft imo.

I don't know the exact ins and outs but last year they branches got their tickets at the start of a phase before anyone else so, for example, phase 2 would end with a couple of le of hundred tickets left and then a sold out announcement would happen before phase 3 even started.

However that isn't happening any more. They get the guaranteed phase 1 tickets like everyone else and then after Phase 1 no preference and members have to log on and get their own like everyone else

Mate I have absolute sympathy for you and your son, but the issue is the incredibly limited supply v high demand. In these situations there's always people who will miss out through absolutely no fault of their own.

As a bloke pointed out earlier there will be some away opportunities after Xmas that you may be able to take advantage of?

And a cartel is a number of companies coming together to fix prices etc in their favour, this isn't a cartel, it's Sunderland fans.

The club are the final arbiters of supply, and it's up to them to sort out the best way they think they can be fair to everyone - unfortunately however they do it people will be upset with their criteria because they'll miss out.

I completely understand your point, however I accept and understand why the club allocate the way they do.

He could have got a lot more than 5 points even from just last season. Obviously this year he'll be lucky to make an away league game, make sure he goes to all the cup games, which I accept may only be 2 like. If we go down it'll be much easier, even if we stay up it might get slightly easier next season.

Did Brighton midweek under Bruce , home for 4am work for 8am.

Palace Friday night work next morning as well.

I was addicted

There is nothing quite like an away match mind.

ADDITION:

Just seen this bit, sorry didn't notice it in my first reply.

If that's happening I absolutely don't agree with people doing it, I couldn't in all conscience do it if I went to away matches.

Not sure how you'd stop it, but it's not great.

It is absolutely happening - I'm not sure how widespread and I know for a fact that some branches are guilty of using phase 1 numbers for the same purpose.

May be less prevalent in the Premier League but I know my neighbour went to plenty last year despite having nowhere near enough points

I've learned something today.

The few I ever went to were ones that went to general sale so never came across this.

This is the bit that is wrong with the current system but the only way to sort that is ID checks which looks pretty difficult to implement

It is harsh but why should someone who has no/very few points have preference over someone who has spent thousands going away over a number of years? I will say this is probably not applicable to you but there are too many fans who come out of the woodwork when aways are popular to moan about the current system

It happened last year when Leeds/Boro etc. came around but they were strangely quiet for Cardiff away at 12.30 on the first day of the season or Swansea away just before Christmas
I suspect in a year or twos time (at least in the premier League) the tickets will have qr codes that refresh every few minutes as happens for concerts and every major sporting event in America This would stop people passing them on as they would have to be sold through third party agencies that the club appoints

Yeah I suspect it will end up being there

They would probably still find a way by sharing login details or similar but then I suppose it limits resale to only people you explicitly trust

Yeah if you buy from a high pointer you are defeating yourself really as you are just making it harder to build your own points up
