Former England coach David Lloyd has spoken of his anger after being 'manhandled' by stewards at Lancashire's Old Trafford ground.

Lloyd, now famous for the key role he plays in Sky Sports' cricket commentary team and known as 'Bumble', is a life member of Old Trafford and former captain of Lancashire.

Lloyd was in the members area looking at old photos prior to England's T20 with India on Wednesday when he was approached by stewards and asked to leave. Lloyd stood his ground, but was grabbed by the arms and told me had two minutes to leave the room - with the stewards believing he had the wrong accreditation.

"I'm absolutely flipping livid," Lloyd told the Daily Mail. "I'm a life member and ex-captain of the club.

"I pointed out I was just looking at a few photos and mentioned that I was in most of them.

"They asked me if I was refusing to leave and when I said I was going nowhere, two of them grabbed me by the arms. I said 'we're in a stalemate here because I'm not moving'.

"So they marched me a few paces before this other fellow steps in and tells me I've got two minutes to leave.

"It seems to be the only ground in the world where they go out of their way to be obstructive. You couldn't make it up."

Lancashire events manager Richard Mulcaster said: "We unreservedly apologise. The stewards involved were not following the correct procedure and have been informed as much."
