BT Sport after cricket

I'm caught in two minds here, i get access to bt sport by having broadband with them and i don't have sky but still i'm not sure i would want bt to get cricket rights.

sky do such a good job i would probably rather watch them occasionally on a stream that see bt mess the job up.

channel 5 is so bad i would rather read about it and going on the 'experts' that bt have chosen it would be a horrific bunch them go for, and no doubt they would try and nab some from sky and TMS, both of which have great teams that should stick together.

you can just see it now, all the worst charactateurs [sp?] mark nicholas, boycoutt and vaughan would definitly be there plus rob key, dominic cork and a couple of tarts as eye candy.

I'll be making a formal complaint if they get the cricket as well. Twats.

They can have the cricket. But if they touch motorsport I will have a serious strop.

Sky have been great for cricket. When BBC had it they always mixed it in with golf/Wimbledon/horse racing etc.

They have broadcast test matches in their entirety and with very little tampering of the schedules.

BT Sport seem to have ideas above their station. Paid silly money for the Champions & Europa Leagues, they'll probably go daft for the test matches too.

you could easily make the argument that the quality of the sky coverage is the reason people are so keen to watch it, same is true with the bbc TMS.

i could see bt sport being very bad for cricket long term. the lass loves watching cricket on sky, absoutely loves it. she won't watch channel 5 coverage, even of matches we've been to.

the sky and tms teams are brilliant for making new comers/neutrals to cricket feel at home and making them enjoy it, a crap commentary team will turn off a whole generation of potential new cricket lovers.

I must admit I love Sky. If they could only get rid of Nick Knight and Ian Ward it would be absolutely perfect.

nick night i don't mind, he fit's in ok with the B team for county stuff, alongisde bob willis, steve harmison et al. i really like mark butcher actually, i think he stands out a bit from the rest of the stiffs.

The thing is, if BT do get the cricket, the sky cricket team will be out of a job unless BT take them on. Surely they would be sensible enough to realise how good Sky's current lot are and basically just take them all on to do their own coverage of it. I haven't seen any of their football coverage, but their rugby coverage is excellent, mainly because they've looked at how they could improve on what Sky had to offer.

Just so long as Mark Nicholas is discounted from any potential role with them before discussions even begin. Let the Aussies keep him as he's worse than crap.

I've nothing against BT, I actually think their football coverage, production is very good. Their HD quality is second to none.

But sky's coverage of cricket is excellent, especially this year with the rebranding of SS2 to Skysports Ashes, having all the cricket on one channel was great.

This! Bold bit especially.

I love sky, but I'm sure we had this feeling when Channel 4 lost it. We loved them now we love Sky, I'm sure if BT sport do get it, they wont be daft enough not to take some of the sky boys too.

As long as I get to see Nasser, Athers and Bumble, I don't care about the rest.

I might get pelters for this but Strauss and Holding get on me tits somewhat.

Agree with this 100%.

Most boring man ever.

if BT get test matches i'll have to bin Sky, couldn't afford both of them.

I have just ditched Sky bout a month ago for Virgin. Canny. Saved me some money as I only watch the sports, which you have to pay a premium for on sky, but on virgin its bout 15quid cheaper and I get BT sports thrown in with tv XL package.

Meh.

It was Channel 4 who were the innovators when it came to covering cricket, Sky just bought the rights and nicked the production team, if BT do the same to Sky then who cares? I'm sure they'll set up the same agreement with Channel 9 in Oz and not much will change.

TMS will continue on as if nothing happend.
