Brydon Carse

Stand by what I've said. I think he has a long way to go. He's fortunate and I hope he takes this opportunity
I agree with you. He has been picked because of his attributes and recent performance in one day cricket. His bowling for Durham has been ordinary really. That said I can see why they like him and someone with his pace and bounce could be handy in Australia

I suspect you knew that he hinted at potential but rarely realised it. Perhaps the suspension was the wake up call to make him work hard to realise that potential.
Good point, he was impressive that he was willing to graft in the 🇵🇰 ☀️

Another exmple of why you can't just look at county championship stats when selecting someone. Averages 33 at nearly 4 an over with most of his career being in Division 2.

But this is also a system which allows bowlers like Chris Rushworth and Sam Cook take hundreds of wickets at 20 bowling 78mph every week. Whilst those two are no doubt skilful bowlers in their own right they'd be flipping useless at this level anywhere but bowler friendly decks at home.

They seem to like what he brings to the bowling attack.Chances of a Stokes,Wood,Potts and Carse attack are slim but I'd like to think injuries aside all will be on the plane to Oz

Another player who this regime seem to build their confidence and perform better than expected.

Really hope he stays fit and develops as he is the exact type of bowler that could be more than useful in the Ashes in Australia
I think his lengthy suspension will also have helped. He's had 3 months when his sole cricket focus was bowling in the nets so developing greater control to his ability to bowl at high speed.

Brydon has just been referred to as Player of the Match by Tyne/Tees news . Whatever happened to MOM seeing it was a mens test match 🤔🙄
