Eh mate wtf are you on about man you press your man when he’s got the ball man not just their back 4 you can’t just have someone sitting deep not doing it as it means they will have a spare man and it will be easy for them to pass around us. The system fails if someone isn’t pressing or it isn’t done as a unit

Ffs sounds like you want everyone to press like rabid dogs 😀

Press in phases, say an all out press of midfield and attack after losing the ball. Then if you don't win it back after so many seconds etc it's back into position, or if the ball goes out of play after the initial press a short one and then drop off.

You don't have men chasing All up the pitch or all around it. Sure you have the defence pushed up and make it compact but they're not actively in the press.

Whitehall said men chasing up the pitch man ! You press you man if the centre forward gets it the centre back presses him straight away midfielder for midfielder winger fullback ect that’s how it works you can’t has some pressing and some not that’s when it fails as the opposition can find a way out or a pass, your defenders wouldn’t end up upfield becaue the man they press is a centre forward

Thats just general closing down rather than being part of the press as if the centre forward gets the ball then the press by that point has pretty much failed. The centre back wouldn't just press him, he would defend as normal (press, shepherd etc) deciding what to do depending on if he had cover etc or of he felt he could win the ball.

The press as in being a high pressing team is different - like the Spain gegenpress. Its orchestrated phases of pressing, usually for a timed period or when the ball is in areas high up the pitch.

The defence doesn't press in the manner you are siggesting - it goes higher up the pitch so the press can operate without leaving soace behind and the team is more compact.

Neil is better forward too.Hume probably has the best attributes to play Defensive Centre Mid .Onien could fill in at right back.

Which means they won't all be pushing up. The opposition will have players close to or in our half!

Thought Browne was really good first half, looks a mint signing. Competition might bring the best out of Ekwah too, as it stands he’s not starting.
Watched the highlights back a good few times now and jobe is quality
