Brobbey plus one = goals

Lovely interplay with Geertruida for our best effort. If we want the best from his style of play surely he needs a striker next to him (instead of wasting a position on a wandering Hume?). Brobbey on his own up top is unlikely to score enough goals at this level.....
Not if he waste's the sort of opportunity he got today, one on one with the keeper. We all love him for his attitude and sometimes decry the lack of service but today he squandered a great chance and it was down to poor finishing. I'm not convinced he''s a good enough finisher.

Aye, needs a second striker and runners beyond him.

We also need them runners to start finishing mind.

I don’t think it has to be a striker. A premier league level Jack Clarke would clean up playing off him. Our team is sorely lacking goalscorers atm.

He's not a finisher,we desperately need a 1 in 2 or 3 striker in the summer. If he has to be sold to fund it then so be it.

That’s what you get though for the price we can afford. I’ve seen haaland miss some belta one on one chances this season. We’re Sunderland we’re not spending £100m on a striker that nails every chance (they don’t exist). Look at the mags thick end of £150m and I’d take brobbey over both. We need more runners from midfield and a winger with more experience and end product. But I don’t think we’re signing a better striker than brobbey. Infact I hope the rumours of clubs like Bayern are bollocks as I don’t think we could replace him.

Brilliant at what he does and he’s a right handful but he does miss alot of easier chances. Do think he will be so much more effective next season with a proper pre season and better wide players hopefully alongside him

Le fee should be doing it

He should have scored but even world class strikers have a keeper save an effort from time to time. Over the top reaction to start questioning him

People seem to think that by putting an extra forward on we would be able to play in exactly the same way but would have an extra attacking threat to score more goals. We would lose every game we played in this league with 2 up top

How many teams play with 2 strikers in the PL?

They completely miss that it was the midfield 3 dominating that allowed us to get forward like we did.

We need wingers and midfielders who can score to play off him.

On the balance for the day, we were simply unlucky not to net at least one, but it's also clear as day that we need some players that interplay better with Brobbey.

I like the progress we've seen with Talbi (for example.) He made a great run into the box with the ball and served an excellent ball to brobbey, then Talbi stopped running top box and watched... Brobbey controlled the service, shielded the ball well, and, in very tight quarters, sent it back across goal for a tap in.

If Talbi had actually continued running towards the goal (instead of stopping and watching), he gets the tap in.

Young player, teachable moment, and all that... But just one example where we lack experience for finishing when it counts.
