British couple in iran

The risk of being denied entry is probably on a par if you have criticised Trump / US on social media. They simply won't allow you in and you will be on the first flight back home. It's not to do with a hatred of Trump. It's fast becoming the reality.
Nonsense

Is that happening? I doubt you’ll be denied entry to the US because of some posts on the SMB. I’ve just googled it as I have no background on it. The main thing that come up was some Aussie bloke being denied entry because he’d been posting about breaking into Billie Eilishs house.

Not here no, but on socials like X / Facebook / YT - yes.

How many people have been refused a visa on this premise then?

I'm not a US immigration officer, so I don't know the figures. But it is happening and there are high profile cases of rejection for political views. As a British passport holder, you can do an ESTA so providing this information is not mandatory - but can be asked for.

It will probably become mandatory in the near future even for ESTA applications.

I'm pretty sure that anyone applying for an actual visa, who provides their social media and posts comments critical of US policy / government / Trump etc would have a very high chance of their visa being rejected.

Can you show some examples?

There's plenty information out there on it. Drug use is often cited as a reason by the USA, which makes it funny how their pal Yaxley is allowed to enter.

So that's zero then

And are they genuine criticisms of him? If so then yep it sounds daft for them to be denied entry. If they are the type to let him consume their whole life and they’re posting about him every hour of the day with threats and that then I have no sympathy.

Anyone making any threats to anyone on a social media platform should face consequences and it's a genuine reason to be refused entry to a country - don't think anyone would have any argument with that.

But someone who is simply critical of politics should be allowed to express their opinion in line with the First amendment. Obviously they are well within their rights to deny anyone at the border who they don't want in the country. But then don't claim to be some kind of bastion of democracy.

The thread is about not going to dangerous countries or countries with travel warnings against them. It’s absurd to mention the US in the same breath man

Can you tell us?
Maybe i'd not like to be targeted for not having the "right" skin colour.

I doubt i'd like seeing gangs of masked armed gangs dragging people from their cars and homes. Blue states only though.

Many reasons not to go, apart from personal safety, as i'm sure you know.

Whilst your arguments are specifically linked to ICE which is something I’ve already condemned the examples you gave could happen in any major city in the world.

When I lived in London I saw both of those things happen. Doesn’t stop it being one of my favourite cities on Earth.
