I dont really think we should sign many from the UK market "the prem" not that i dont rate the lad it is just not value for money for us atm

The thing is everyone expects the manager to be gone by June. Seems a strange move for the lad. The pull of London probably sorted the deal out but I have a feeling that’s his level now.
 
Fairly pleased to miss out on this one tbh. Not a bad player but £35m does seem a lot.

I didn't want him, but I don't understand his logic in going to Palace. Glasner seems to have pushed for his signature but in 6 months he probably has left the club. So there is a chance the next coach might not fancy him or fit into the style, so he's stuck back on the bench. He'd have been better off just going for a loan somewhere and seeing what happens in the summer.
 
Palace could have a great player on their hands there. But the price is a wake up call for how much homegrown talent costs especially in January.

As much as we’d like to see any improvement I don’t think we should smash the budget with expensive signings this month. Save that for the summer. We have every chance of staying in the mix for a top 10 finish, scoring a few more goals will determine whether that is achievable.
