Bloody hell you said something good about esh

Always well balanced in my views Ed as you well know :-)

To be fair it's good to see clubs go the extra mile. The wicket was wet today many clubs would have just not bothered but we got a good game where batsmen had to 'work hard. Nobody got injured and the wicket wasn't damaged. The umpires wouldn't play at the Riggs yesterday when conditions were clearly ok. It's lazy or some umps have another agenda.

Completely agree with this

I would be interested to know how many games got a start if umpires weren't paid following an abandonment!!

This

Some umpires in my experience are influenced by how easy they can get their money and some have genuine bias against clubs for what ever reason.

We don't have a game without them and we have some very good and decent men.

Bizarre timing of the declaration meant they ended up with more points than us

It was all about trying to get ourselves more points, in the grand scheme of things we wanted to force a win, after all thats why we play cricket! We can't win the league so bonus points are immaterial in fairness.
