Boycott Qatar

Instances of Racism in British football was being reduced year on year and the U.K. tackled it better than our European neighbours. Then the woke left decided we needed to import this from the US.
1 million football fans watch footy every week in this country- how many instances of racism was there? There’s millions of fans on Twitter, a few racist nuggets type something vile and millions of good fans are tarred with the same brush.
Campaigns like Show racism the red card had reduced instances of racism massively, before the woke left came along pleading that we all required re-education. Say it for what it is- just an attack on their most hated demographic- working class, white, footy fans- the left despise them.
Did they have a meeting to decide, the woke leftists? I bet there was a cracking selection of vegan nibbles on offer, and they were either sipping their hypocritical expensive mineral water, or champagne to live up to their moniker of champagne socialistas, whilst ignoring the additional hypocrisy of wearing their leather sandals and stroking their hipster beards.

Did I miss any other red flag stereotypes for you there, Mr Sausage?

Fume! Fume!

You may feel powerless, but much can change between now and then. Every professional club world wide has a forum and fans with morals. If the majority of our members voted "boycott" then you have some leverage with other clubs. We are living in a world that has a temporary unification because of the Uraine war, so morals of different cultures are aligning like never before. I have no skills of leadership and I seldom inspire, but there are members on every froum with the qualities and nouse to make this happen.

Good people are the ruling classes...we could stop this happening 👍

Taking the knee had nothing to do with fighting inequality-if it did, they'd be doing it where it is actually needed, where slavery and human rights abuses abound. Instead that gesture is only reserved for the mainly, white working class lads who need 're-educating' here; It's virtually the definition of hypocrisy.

But it did John, you silly sausage.

You seem to focus on micro details when it suits and broad sweeps at other times.

Glad you’re not hypocritical though.

Football has never had any morals, domestically or internationally. The FAs are as corrupt as any criminal organisation. They're worse cos they pretend they're upstanding citizens who work for the good of the sport. Send everyone of the motherfückers to Qatar & let them dispense their own justice. Now I'd pay to see that.

Southgate said after the Hungary kids had booed the gesture: "We do it to educate people around the world.' And yet you still think, falsely, that everyone who boos the gesture is racist, it's not, it’s because they don’t want to be lectured to by likes of, Southgate, Lineker, you and others (mainly on the left) who fancy themselves as their moral superiors. It’s that simple.

Fortunately, for the real racists and human rights abusers in Qatar, they've been given a free pass -no re-education required there.

The hypocrisy argument really is stupid. It seems the people who make it are more worried about hypocrisy than the actual issue

It’s almost like some people are absolutely thick as fuck

You know there’s no nuance on football internet message boards man mate 😂

I’ll be watching as much as I usually would but unlikely to travel over there unless a few ducks fall into a row

Saint Gareth on taking the knee in Qatar:
"It's hugely complex, there are ‘cultural differences’ between Britain and Qatar to factor in, too. What’s more, ‘[We], as a nation, do a lot of business with Qatar… I was reading about Rolls Royce, 10,000 new jobs."

Never mind about gay rights and whatnot, we need cars for rich people!

No hypocrisy though eh @Hair Flick ?

Suspect it's the other Rolls Royce, not the car maker. Minor point though.

Said it in other threads. I'm boycotting it. Overheard some nags (not a mistake) discussing their takeover and stating Sunderland supporters' hypocrisy. On the contrary I'm shocked by the hypocrisy of Newcastle Labour Party, Newcastle based media, Newcastle Pride supporters.
If you're talking about Chi Onwurah then I feel she has zero morals, as long as keeps being elected and thus, maintaining her cushy number.
This is a woman who raised Mike Ashley's ownership and treatment of Sports Direct owners in parliament on THREE ocasions. Since Newcastle have been owned by arguably the most cruel regime since National Socialism (anyone see Soccer Aid last week for a snippet?) - absolutely nothing.
She is abhorrent and knows fine-well if she rocked the boat and lost support of football fans, she wouldn't have her place in parliament. Its about Chi and Chi only.

A tax driver whose cab I was in recently was telling me about how his cousin went from Sri Lanka to work there on the world cup construction. He immediately had his passport taken, was stuck in a dorm with loads of other lads in the same situation, given food and water and sent to work every day until their "contract" was up when he was one of the lucky ones to get back home, alive.
Slavery happening before our eyes and we've got the likes of uber-socialist Gary Neville sipping his gratis wine over there whilst eulogising about what a great country and world cup its going to be. Sickening.
Perfect summary - it’s a f***ing disgrace.

what’s the line on this then? I’ve settled personally on watching it but only illegally pirating it to not contribute to the viewing figures. I’ll buy nothing to do with it officially (I still usually do the sticker books, I know I know, but not this time), and I usually get some of the kits which I won’t this time. Also making a point that whenever it is discussed being a broken record about raising the crimes of Qatar and making everyone aware that it’s a sportswashing exercise.

I call it the take take take and no give model. What do people think?
Watching it on tele won't contribute to the viewing figures, thats not how they calculate them. They get about 5000 people who agree to have their viewing monitored and they extrapolate it. So if you're one of the 5,000 then not watching will have a large effect as it would take about 12,000 off the viewing figures. If you aren't then your watching it won't increase the figures at all. So I'll be watching on BBC and itv and not buying any merchandise
