If it was a constant problem yes.Would you be happy with your bowler stopping in his delivery and warning the batsman?
Agree with this. Ridiculous this can be out when the ball isn’t even live and in play. Run penalties would be an appropriate penalty and would sharp stop batters doing it.Being OUT is a disproportionate sanction for stealing a yard IMO. The rules should encourage positive, attacking cricket (see also lbw 'outside the line' rule change in the 1970s). Should be 4 run penalty.
After how many balls would you say just do it 5 in a row?If it was a constant problem yes.
Give it a rest man. I wouldn't do it cos I think it's bollocks way of claiming a wicket. You clearly would. It's like a shit interrogation on The Bill thisAfter how many balls would you say just do it 5 in a row?
Fair enough I was just seeing how far you would let it go. I understand your point of view and respect it, but disagree. That’s what these discussions are all about. I’ve seen plenty of warnings given over the years which solves the issue every time. No idea why it isn’t brought in as an official rule as it would sort all problems out imo.In 25 years of playing local cricket I have never been involved in a game where even a warning was issued. International cricketers deciding they know better than everyone else, and it will creep into the leagues this year no doubt. Sad times.
I warned a young 'un once when I was umpiring an U18 game - just a quiet word and he stopped doing it immediately.I’ve seen plenty of warnings given over the years which solves the issue every time. No idea why it isn’t brought in as an official rule as it would sort all problems out imo.

I also used to give bowlers a heads-up when they were pushing the no-ball line - more effective, I found.
