Boros attempt

I reckon when they come back up people will sharply stop the recently boro love in on here. I play 5s with a couple smoggy lads and work with a few, they're sound lads until football comes up anarl, the majority do genuinely hate us imo. Especially on their forum

@summaz what do you reckon marra? Just sound lads who want to talk about the footy??
Mate, they had loads of spare time to pop on here and chat about the footy when we were in League 1.

They just loved a chat.. about the footy of course. Since our promotion though they are into other things like shopping and fishing. However they will be interested in footy chat again in 24h if they win. Not that they're any kind of threat to us mind.

In two minds tomorrow.

Wife and all the in-laws are Southampton fans. Her brother is a really good lad and Saints season ticket holder. We both watched and cheered each other's teams plenty ot times over the years!

Theyre devastated they wont be there, and want Hull to win.

Ill be watching the match with him, and cant bring myself to openly cheer Boro to win, but secretly kinda hope they do!
Like the Boro lot 😉

Are they looking at Boro in a negative manner because they were the victims of their club cheating?
Or do they want Hull to win for another reason?

Theyre football fans. They themselves didnt cheat and are furious that the club did and cost them potential promotion. But its still their club

They want Hull, because Hull are the only team in the final for purely football reasons. Its not a negative on Boro as such, but the circumstances that Boro are there.

Its a strange situation, I actually dont see why Boro are there, other than the commercial benefits of the game taking place. Boro were effectively eliminated, then Southampton were disqualified leaving Hull the last team in the competition.

Fair enough to them. I’m glad it’s 2 northern teams competing to go up as the more Northern teams (and less London teams) in the prem the better.

That said, haway Hull for the in-laws sake

And thats how my in-laws see it.

Hull won their playoff fair and square. Theyre there on football merit, and my in-laws reckon it would be an injustice for Boro to go up having only got there by a ruling made in an office.

I kind of get that but then you remember Boro were playing at a disadvantage in their playoff.

Work with a few good lads and they were saying their mates who had the cheap bookings in advance had cancelled after the semi final.

I think that’s just tough shit for not keeping hold of it for a day or two longer but in frustration, I can see why

I see nothing wrong with Boro coming up and after the cheating, I’m pleased for football’s sake that they’re getting a chance
