Boro thread

Meltdown starting early this year. Ipswich will overtake them soon and that will be that.
Ipswich will be champions imo so Boro will need to overhaul Cov.

I always think the likes of Millwall Hull and Preston fade normally , but if Hull gets play offs , they always seem to win them.

My prediction
Cov and Ipswich auto
Play offs Boro Hull Bristol City and maybe Blades.

Sheffield United are way too inconsistent this season. Hull on the other hand have a decent manager this season and a lot of their star players that were injured last season are back. The addition of McBurnie has been a real coup.

Agree that Coventry and Ipswich will get auto though especially considering how Boro looked very average tonight. Stark contrast from their visit to the MKM stadium. But then again, this is the Championship - anybody can beat anybody.

Fair points

Just noticed Watford’s form there , 1 defeat in 12. They might get in there.

We've still got loads of injuries though, just recurring. Belloumi who was out all last season then came back then got injured then came back again is now injured again. Gelhardt is out for a few weeks and we lost Giles at left back tonight. Our best defender is in Africa as well. With all that and the transfer restrictions it's nothing short of a miracle where we are now.

Historically once we get into this sort of position we usually finish the job either automatically or through the play offs, but I do worry about these constant recurring injuries taking their toll eventually.

Well I say worry, I'm just enjoying the ride really. Worrying is for relegation scraps. And real life

Three poor results, 61 shots across three games and zero goals. Our number 9 has 3 in 23. We have been reliant on goals across the team and its dried up.

We had no centre backs in the squad last night and we gifted them the goal but we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored.

The mission for January is simply, a striker and an Attacking mid. Mcgree is our most creative player but made out of glass.

Its hard to see us staying ahead of Ipswich with their squad and last night they finally turned there away form around.

But we are still 2nd and January is upon us

You aren't staying above Ipswich, you need to catch Coventry. Ipswich are Leeds/Burnley last season, clearly above everyone else.

It’s crazy to think we were a division below you not long ago mind.

You can have Dan Neil, captained a team to promotion from your league (as you well know), not the greatest cm around but a local boy and would massively improve your matchday squad.

Fully expecting Sheff U to sneak 6th then comfortably win the play offs
