Boro thread

Our head of football Kieran Scott wanted Edwards instead of Carrick but Carrick was Gibson's call.

This time Gibson has said to Scott let's go with your man.

I'm happy enough. 2 promotions on his CV and he has a very good working relationship with Scott.
Sometimes people most don’t want or are unaware of have a point to prove ?
Time will tell as always
Most fans who attend whoever their manager/club is will give a new fella a chance .
Look at us with Reggie ( I had never heard of him ) the fans turned up as usual and gave him a fighting chance -in fact he mentioned it when interviewed after play off win ( he was well aware he was maybe not who fans first thought of )
Edwards may not be everyone’s cup of tea at Boro it seems but who knows ?

Always prepared to give a new manager a chance.

I wanted Cooper but after Carrick failed my top preference was that we'd go with a manager who has a recent record of getting a club promoted.

I would have been happy with top 10 last season-spending very little Reggie proved if you are organized and together both as a team and with the fanbase then anything can be achieved .
You should have cash to spend after sales of key players I would have thought ?
Recruitment is key .

Edwards to Boro as Gibson has ran out of money to pay the compo for Rohl  its happening

Nonsense  hes out of work and Gibson has ran out of money
Cooper didn't want the job and Gibson has always appointed managers out of work.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rohl was never really in contention to begin with.

We got £21m for Lath and it's looking likely Azaz will be sold for £20m. I also expect us to get £20m at least for Hackney, so the money should be there for a rebuild.

He may do very well. But I do find it a bit strange theyve gone for a manager whose style of football is the polar opposite to Carrick's.
They’ve built a Man City diet team like most clubs are trying to do, nimble technical footballers, and have appointed a bloke whose only success has come with very physical sides. Its bizarre.
