Boro thread

Just checked -Stockton and Mbro have a catchment area of 300000
Sunderland 270000
I never realised Stockton had such a big population .
Then you have, Redcar, Thornaby,Yarm/eaglescliffe, billingham, Guisborough, Coulby newham, Ingleby Barwick, parts of south Durham, north Yorkshire and the coastal areas like Marske,Saltburn,Brotton,Loftus etc. About half a million.

It'll be Stockton town soon. That club has potential. Stockton has a bigger population than Middlesbrough. They'll be in the same league soon as Stockton are progressing and Boro are dormant in a coma.
To be fair, Stockton Town only has around 80k, if you are talking about the council boundaries of Stockton on Tees, then yes it has a bigger population, but that consists of 5 small towns, Stockton, Thornaby, Yarm, Billingham, Ingleby Barwick and they all have their own football teams.

Own football teams, like they are competition for support for a championship club. Stockton has potential tho as a club.

I said you're well supported but then you're both one club cities and have a massive catchment area.

Boro are also well supported in my opinion in the context of having some of the most expensive tickets in the division.

The poster I initially responded to said we'd never come close to Sunderland or Newcastle in terms of support but I pointed out that you regularly gave tickets away when you were in the Premier League, which bumped up your crowds.

Catchment area?

There’s neebody near you for miles man, we are 35 mile away and Leeds ?

It has potential, but don't think k for one minute that Thornaby, Billingham are going to support them, they have their own teams.
And don't tell people from Thornaby and Yarm they are front Stockton...

I'm referring to them doing it once and the context was that it was due to a boycott against the owner. I dislike them but acknowledge they have excellent support.

Sunderland are also well supported but many of your own supporters admitted that you regularly used to give tickets away the last time you were in the Premier League.
Boycott.
So that's what it's called when fans get fed up and stop turning up.
