Boro thread

Twitter is never a particularly great barometer but noticed that Carrick was trending after the game and the sentiment of the Boro fans seems fairly similar to how some of us felt about Mowbray after Huddersfield at home last season. A certain level of fondness towards him because of some of the football they've played under him but a clear realisation that he's reached the end of the road there.

Exactly what my mate has said tonight. Thanks for the good times, but ran out of ideas. Having Woodgate on the coaching staff isn't helping anyone either

He’s been there a few seasons now and it’s just more of the same, lots of possession, wasteful finishing and a leaky defence. He’s also more streaky than Lee Johnson - they always seem to start poorly, go gang busters from the international break to Christmas, then the wheels start to fall off from January.

Have they had good times? Play offs the same year as us where the most they got in two games against Coventry was a corner.

We’re not finished yet, but how Boro finished that season proper should be a warning to us if we go into the playoffs on the back of a few dead rubber matches.

Been saying this all along. Sure last 2-3 games carrick put out full 2nd strings resting the likes of akpom and archer for the play offs then they got mullered by an in form cov

There's something about former players of Fergie who become managers. They're all dour, always wittering on about some injustice they've been on the wrong end of, never at fault and single-minded in their approach.

Carrick has some good ideas but hasn't improved or developed from an admittedly amazing start as a manger. Needs binning for his own good. Boro are ridiculously streaky so will find themselves caught in this cycle again if they don't take the decision now.

As one poster states start off awful pull it around after the international break usually limp into the play offs

They got too cocky last seasons play offs thinking they just had to turn up think Coventry they totally blew it
