Boro thread

You poor bugger. I had 10 years amongst them lot and it's left me with a deep hatred for them

They let Coventry draw and ensure a play-off spot because they were worried about playing us and it came back to bite them on the arse. Talking to my mutant nephew he's not convinced they'll have a good season at all. They've tried to replicate our recruitment policy but it takes time to set all that up and we had the luxury of doing it in league 1.
Whatever Carrick's motives were for playing a weakened side on the last day or the season, and then clearly instructing the team to hold back in the second half was just illogical (when they were in such poor form) and would have concerned me greatly if I was a boro fan. Not convinced at all about him.

When I was coming back from Preston, I got talking to a couple of boro lads at the services and they were fuming with Carrick. They both thought they have blown promotion and were proved right.

Aye, couple boro lads I know well wouldn't even entertain their chances against Coventry. They're usually a bit on the miserable side mind but they both said it'd be 2 legs of toothless attack

Had they actually tried against Coventry, I think they would have gotten past us at the Riverside due to our injuries. Once at Wembley, anything could have happened.

He had the bagpuss glazed look yesterday. The classic worried look of a man with no answers.

The cup nobody's bothered about ?
The same cup that your fans were 'daring to dream' about you mean?
I keep telling you...no-one associated with Seaham should be a Boro fan. It's unnatural and against the forces of nature. Your only possible excuse is that you were born in Smogland and moved.
Dreadful to see. Move 20 miles south and do not collect £100.
Oh, and the town and the team you support are not very good either.

That’s assuming all your season ticket holders turn up.. which on the current showing…..
no, tickets sold are counted whether your in the ground or not at least that's what most clubs if not all do. I seem to recall a few seasons back you lot were reporting crowds in the 30k range, when everybody including your own lot knew they were no were near.
Not bad for a club established 1986 as the fans let the original club die
I would say mismanagement from the owners let the club fold

Aye you’re right there like. But do your season ticket holders have to buy two tickets, one for each heed?

I went to school in Seaham and there were no Mags and certainly no Boro fans - that was not even a consideration. That said I once knew a lad from Spennymoor who was a Boro fan. He was right contrary bugger.

Obviously early days yet for both clubs but I'd be slightly concerned at boros performance just like some of us were at our first couple of games
Would just be our luck they turn into prime barca when we play them next month mind

Any Smoggies need to be brough in fornt of the Committee of Dawdon Club and explain their actions. The hearing will be held in the Little House on the Prairie.

What is it you lot say...... Chomp ?
So, your fans only got interested in the cup once you got in the final?
In a cup that no-one's bothered about?
Surely, the tin pot final should have been ignored too then.

Admittedly, we've had a terrible start to the season - one point and down the bottom.
Only 5 games in though, doesn't automatically make us relegated - or you promoted for that matter.
Things don't stay the same forever - you had four seasons in the third tier not so long ago, more than us in our entire history.
Your history isn’t very long though

He’s a proper smoggie. Got the heads to prove it.
