Whatever Carrick's motives were for playing a weakened side on the last day or the season, and then clearly instructing the team to hold back in the second half was just illogical (when they were in such poor form) and would have concerned me greatly if I was a boro fan. no, tickets sold are counted whether your in the ground or not at least that's what most clubs if not all do. I seem to recall a few seasons back you lot were reporting crowds in the 30k range, when everybody including your own lot knew they were no were near.

I went to school in Seaham and there were no Mags and certainly no Boro fans - that was not even a consideration. That said I once knew a lad from Spennymoor who was a Boro fan. He was right contrary bugger.

Bad owners aren’t ideal and we’ve all had our share but I doubt the crowds of three thousand odd you used to get back then helped much either.
